Popular Twitch streamer and owner of Disguised, an esports organisation, announced on Tuesday, August 22 that the organisation will expand into another esports title. As confirmed, Disguised Toast signed Dude's Night Out, an Apex Legends roster, who will represent Disguised at the Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS) 2023 Championship.
The Apex Legends season is slowly coming to an end, nearing its culminating event, the Apex Legends Global Series: 2023 Championship. The tournament will take place in Birmingham, England, and welcome 40 of the world's best Apex Legends teams vying for the lion's share of the $2,000,000 prize pool.
Out of 40 attending teams, many include org-less squads of free agents, but one squad will be unsigned no longer. The veteran Apex Legends trio of Adam "senoxe" Lau, Ira "dooplex" Shepherd, and Trenton "lou" Clements, formerly of Dudes Night Out, have signed a contract with Disguised as the inaugural Apex Legends roster of Disguised Toast's esports organisation.
The North American trio have qualified for the ALGS 2023 Championship by placing second in ALGS: 2023 Last Chance Qualifier - North America, having previously made just an appearance in a professional tournament – in June, when Dude's Night Out finished ALGS: 2023 Split 2 Challenger Circuit #4 - North America in fifth place.
Despite attending just two ALGS events in 2023, the trio boasts plenty of experience competing in Apex Legends. Dooplex is a veteran Apex Legends player who debuted in July 2020 and has since played for half a dozen teams, including OpTic Gaming, with he placed fourth at ALGS: 2022 Split 2 Playoffs in 2022.
Senoxe and lou, on the other side, are former Sentinels teammates. Together, they won ALGS: 2021 Split 1 Pro League - North America and finished fourth at ALGS: 2022 Split 1 Playoffs - North America in early 2022.
Lou has also played for other big names in the Apex Legends esports world, including Complexity, CLG, and Rogue.
By signing the North American trio, Disguised Toast now expanded the presence of his esports organisation into the third title. He has already signed a tier-two League of Legends team and a Valorant team, with his decision to sign Dudes' Night Out marking the first time Disguised will obtain a team that is already competing at the highest level.
Disguised' LoL team has recently won the 2023 North American Challengers League (NACL) 2023 Summer Season Playoffs; however, since the league has no path to the LoL Championship Series (LCS), the success was somewhat bittersweet. Meanwhile, Disguised Valorant team has failed to qualify for VALORANT Challengers Ascension 2023.
Disguised' new Apex Legends squad will make its debut under a new banner on Wednesday, September 6, in the first round of the group stage at Apex Legends Global Series: 2023 Championship. Lou and co. enter the tournament as underdogs, priced at 81.00.
