On Thursday, January 18, Call of Duty League team Carolina Royal Ravens announced the second roster change of the year. Just six days after signing Thomas "TJHaLy" Haly, the Royal Ravens added Tyler "FeLo" Johnson, who will replace Adam "GodRx" Brown.

FeLo is a known face in the professional CoD esports scene. He started his esports career in 2014 and has, over the next ten years, played for some of the most successful CoD teams.

In 2016, FeLo joined Elevate, with who he placed third in Call of Duty World League Championship 2016, adding another strong showing at the world championship with Rise Nation in 2017 and eUnited in 2018, when he finished fourth.

FeLo made his debut in the Call of Duty League in 2021 with Dallas Empire and returned to the top-tier competition in the middle of 2023 with the Florida Mutineers. Unfortunately, he failed to accomplish much last year, with a fifth-sixth place finish in CDL Major 5 marking his most notable achievement.

FeLo hasn't found a team to compete with at the start of the CDL 2024 season. But is now given a chance to prove his worth at the Carolina Royal Ravens, who added the 26-year-old veteran to the lineup on Thursday.

The roster change follows GodRx's decision to retire from professional Call of Duty after 10 years.

FeLo Replaces GodRx

The sudden roster change, just a month into the 2024 CDL season, comes as a result of GodRx's decision to retire as a pro player. The 25-year-old has been involved in the CoD esports scene since 2014 and has competed with numerous teams, but has spent the last three years in the CoD Challengers.

To fill in the gap, the Royal Ravens signed FeLo, who is expected to take over for GodRx on the active CDL roster, over Thomas "TJHaLy" Haly, who remains on the team as a substitute.

The roster change comes at a tough time for the Carolina Royal Ravens, who are 1-4 after three weeks of play in the Call of Duty League (CDL) 2024 Major 1 Qualifier. They've so far beaten just Las Vegas Legion in the opening week but have since racked up three consecutive losses.

With just one victory to their name, the Royal Ravens' chances of finishing the qualifiers inside the top eight are slim. However, FeLo might be the breath of fresh air the Royal Ravens need to bounce back.

FeLo is expected to debut for the Carolina Royal Ravens on Saturday, January 20, when the team faces off against Atlanta FaZe.
