On Monday, June 3, 9Pandas announced the signing of Aleksandr "shalfey" Marenov and Artem "Fierce" Ivanov. The duo replaces Denis “seized” Kostin and Andrey “Xoma” Mironenko, with the former getting benched from the team.

9Pandas finalised their Counter-Strike roster restructure with a new in-game leader and a new head coach, who joined the squad from FORZE Esports. While shalfey replaces the recently benched seized, Fierce will take over as a new head coach for Xoma, who recently made his way to Virtus.pro.

These moves result in a significant team overhaul for 9Pandas, who have been playing together since mid-2023. At the time, 9Pandas saw a lot of success in their competitive endeavours, which included a top-four finish at the PARI Dunav Party.

The Russian Counter-Strike team have since posted more notable results. They won PARI, Please in late 2023 and earlier this year qualified for PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 by winning the European RMR Decider.

Unfortunately, disaster struck shortly after as 9Pandas were unable to travel to Denmark to attend the Major due to visa issues. The team have since attended several tournaments and performed well. They recently also won CCT Season 2 European Series #3, continuing the trend of strong showings.

Whether the two new additions will help 9Pandas remain on their track remains to be seen, but shalfey and Fierce join the team with plenty of experience.

The duo have spent a good part of 2023 competing for FORZE Esports with who they accomplished plenty. That was largely thanks to shalfey who was the star player on the team led by Fierce with his eight-year-long coaching experience.

Shalfey and Fierce will debut for 9Pandas at ESL Challenger League Season 47: Europe, where 9Pandas are set to face Sangal Esports in the first round of the lower bracket, on Tuesday, June 4. The Russian side is also set to compete at Regional Clash Arena CIS, which kicks off on Tuesday.
