AMKAL entered the Counter-Strike esports scene on Thursday, December 28, with the signing of Kaisar “ICY” Faiznurov, Vladislav “Krad” Kravchenko, and the former 1WIN trio. This marks AMKAL’s first entry into the CS esports world.

Joining Krad and ICY are Aleksei "NickelBack" Trofimov, Aleksandr "TRAVIS" Timkiv, and Igor "Forester" Bezotecheskiy, who were recently let go from 1WIN after the Russian Counter-Strike team lost most of its members.

Since November, 1WIN have parted ways with Kiril “Boombl4” Mikhaylov, who left for Cloud9, as well as Denis “deko” Zhukov, and analyst Stepan “brain” Sivoronov, who joined Aurora Gaming. Instead of rebuilding the roster with two new members, 1WIN decided to release the remaining three players, who are now signed under the AMKAL banner.

Krad and Faiznurov both join AKMAL as free agents. Krad was benched from FORZE Esports in July and made a brief return to the team in October, helping the team compete in several tournaments. However, FORZE haven’t found much success over the last few months, with their best placement being a runner-up finish in ESL Challenger League Season 46: Europe.

ICY is a fairly new name in the Counter-Strike scene. The 18-year-old made his professional debut with AVANGAR who he joined in November 2021, and has since achieved some success in lesser regional events.

He was benched from AVANGAR on December 20 and replaced by Alisher “tasman” Marat, supposedly due to his imminent departure to AMKAL.

The former 1WIN trio has accomplished a lot more in their competitive endeavour over the last year. They placed third at Dunav Party LAN, won CCT Online Finals #3 and CCT East Europe Series #2, and recently claimed the CCT East Europe Series #3 title.

However, after losing key members, 1WIN decided to let go of the rest of the lineup, leaving the Russian esports organisation without a CS roster.

AMKAL’s First Entry Into CS

AMKAL is a Moscow-based media football club founded in 2018 by a YouTuber, German "El Classico" Popkov. AMKAL is very popular in Russia, featuring influencers, YouTubers, actors and other popular names in the country.

AMKAL will debut their Counter-Strike roster in the 2024 season, likely in PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: European Open Qualifier.
