Counter-Strike bookmakers have Team Liquid priced as 2.62 underdogs to defeat Astralis who enter the match as 1.44 favourites. This price seems ot be overexaggerated as Astralis haven't shown much this season, but it's not like Team Liquid have looked good in the earlier stages of the tournament.

  • Team Liquid nearly lost to FlyQuest in the Round of 12

Head to Head

Team Liquid and Astralis have yet to meet this year.

Astralis Form

Astralis were fairly quiet since the start of the year, struggling to win or make much noise in any big event. But things changed in April, when Astralis reached the semifinal of Intel Extreme Masters Chengdu 2024.

After a surprisingly strong showing in China, Astralis also managed to show up in Malta, winning ESL Pro League Season 19 Group A with three 2-0 victories against Eternal Fire, FaZe Clan, and 3DMAX, and with that left a very strong statement.

Defeating FaZe Clan alone is a huge accomplishment and a strong testament to Astralis' quality. But while they've had their moments, Astralis still have a lot more to show before they'll reclaim their status as one of the word's elite Counter-Strike esports teams.

Team Liquid Form

Team Liquid qualified for the ESL Pro League Season 19 playoffs as a second seed from Group C. There they made it past FURIA Esports (2-1), Monte (2-0), but lost to MOUZ (2-0).

Their shaky performances continued into the first round of the playoffs, where Team Liquid edged past FlyQuest (2-1) with 13-10 on Mirage 14-16 on Anubis and 13-10 on Ancient. FlyQuest have proven themselves as a competitive team, so playing a close game against them isn't too worrying.

But FlyQuest are much weaker compared to Astralis and other remaining teams in the title race, so if Team Liquid struggled against the Australians, then they'll likely have a hard time against Astralis as well.

Team Liquid Squad & Team News

Team Liquid have not announced any changes.

  • Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis
  • Felipe "skullz" Medeiros
  • Casper "cadiaN" Møller
  • Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken

Team Liquid made it to the ESL Pro League Season 19 quarterfinals, but they've had a fairly easy road to this point. They've beaten mostly second-tier teams but were unable to make it past MOUZ, which should indicate how good Liquid are compared to elite teams.

Whether Astralis deserve to be considered an elite-tier team is up for debate. They've not shown enough yet; however, Astralis are on a good path and in excellent form. So unless they blunder, Astralis should be able to defeat Liquid without any major issues.
