Complexity Can Go All The Way

Although a standalone tournament, BLAST Premier: Fall American Showdown 2023 servers more like a qualifying event for BLAST Premier: Fall Final 2023, which leads to the $1,000,000 BLAST Premier: World Final 2023. However, while Fall American Showdown doesn’t hold as much prestige as some other events, it still promises to bring an exciting week of Counter-Strike actions and plenty of betting opportunities to take advantage of.

According to the latest Counter-Strike esports betting odds, Team Liquid (3.00) and FURIA Esports (3.00) are the main favourites to win BLAST Premier: Fall American Showdown 2023, which makes sense considering they’re two of the highest-rated teams at the tournament.

Trailing behind the leading duo is Complexity (4.50) and Imperial Esports (7.00) as the only remaining teams priced at single digits. Fake Natty (17.00) and Evil Geniuses (19.00) round up a list of potential upset candidates, joined by Forsaken (34.00) and Party Astronauts (41.00) as complete outsiders.

This isn’t excellent, but it’s still pretty solid, yet we have to take into account that the third-favourites, Complexity is ranked no.17, and yet they’re priced at 4.50.

The global ranking doesn’t necessarily mean much, but the teams’ past performances do. Team Liquid have looked good before the summer break but haven’t won or come close to winning a single tournament over the last three months, which is concerning.

In September, they crashed out of ESL Pro League Season 18 in 17th-20th place, which was their third early tournament exit following Gamers8 2023 (ninth-16th) and Intel Extreme Masters Cologne 2023 (17th-20th). Evidently, Team Liquid are not in the best shape.

FURIA Esports are in a similar boat, without any notable accomplishments this year. They placed second at Pinnacle Cup V in August but exited ESL Pro League Season 18 in 13th-16th place, and they weren’t too successful at Gamers8 2023 (ninth-16th) either.

Talent-wise, these two teams are still far above the region’s average. But it’s hard to feel overly optimistic about their chances to go all the way, considering their past form.

Complexity Can Go All The Way

Complexity haven’t looked good this season, and this hasn’t been a very competitive team in years. But Complexity found some success recently and performed well at ESL Pro League Season 18.

Even though Complexity crashed out of the tournament in ninth-12th place, they beat 9INE, Cloud9, and took a map from G2 Esports, which is very impressive for their standards. Complexity crashed out of the playoffs in the Round of 12, so it’s not like we can say they produced a deep run, but they got knocked out by the eventual semifinalists, Monte in a very competitive series.

One good tournament run doesn’t mean much, but Complexity has looked good recently and we can’t say the same for the rest of the favourites.

Verdict

BLAST Premier: Fall American Showdown 2023 Tournament

Of the complete outsiders, I have some fait that Forsaken can do well and they might even take down Team Liquid in the first round if the stars allign, but when we talk potential BLAST Premier: Fall American Showdown 2023 champions, it really comes down to three names – Team Liquid, FURIA Esports, and Complexity.

The three can easily be considered equal, knowing that FURIA and Liquid field the most talent, whereas Complexity isn’t as stacked but is in good form. Weighting form and talent is a bit tricky; however, even though Complexity arguably don’t field as good players, this team is in significantly better form than its two main competitors for the BLAST Premier: Fall American Showdown 2023 title.
