Counter-Strike bookmakers have Complexity priced as 1.58 favourites to defeat BIG, who enter the match as 2.20 underdogs. Complexity have accomplished more of late, which explains the price; however, BIG have shown some improvement, so perhaps they can surprise.

  • BIG recently parted ways with their coach
  • Complexity made semifinals of ESL Pro League Season 19
  • BIG have yet to win a tournament this season

Head to Head

This will be the first meeting between Complexity and BIG of 2024.

Complexity Form

Complexity broke into the top 10 on the Counter-Strike global standings recently, thanks to their incredible run at ESL Pro League Season 19. At the tournament, Complexity defied all the odds and made the semifinal, only to lose against the eventual champions, MOUZ.

In late May, Complexity also attended Intel Extreme Masters Dallas 2024, but they failed to accomplish much, exiting the event in 13th-16th place. Despite the poor placement, Complexity still performed relatively well in the two games they played – against Team Liquid (6-13) and MOUZ (1-2).

From their most recent results, it's clear that Complexity don't have the tools to deal with the elite Counter-Strike esports teams – who consistently eliminated them from more significant events. Yet even in those losses, Complexity showed a lot of fight.

Complexity Squad & Team News

No roster changes for Complexity.

  • Ioannis 'Johnny' "JT" Theodosiou
  • Ricky "floppy" Kemery
  • Michael "Grim" Wince
  • Håkon "hallzerk" Fjærli
  • Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski

BIG Form

BIG have been struggling with their results this year, failing to win a single event. The long dry streak eventually led to the departure of head coach Fatih "gob b" Dayik, who left the team at the end of May. Since then, BIG have attended just one tournament, where they showed some improvement.

After regularly crashing out of bigger tournaments early, BIG finally made some noise at IEM Dallas 2024, where they came just one series away from securing a spot in the playoffs. At the tournament, they did beat just two teams, FlyQuest (2-0) and Virtus.pro (2-1), so we shouldn't overreact.

BIG Squad & Team News

BIG released their head coach Fatih "gob b" Dayik two weeks ago but made no roster changes.

  • Johannes "tabseN" Wodarz
  • Karim "Krimbo" Moussa
  • David "prosus" Hesse
  • Florian "syrsoN" Rische
  • Jon "JDC" de Castro

Verdict

On paper, BIG and Complexity don't look that different quality-wise. However, there's no denying that Complexity have looked much stronger recently, especially against top CS esports teams.

They left a mark at ESL Pro League Season 19 and could've easily made the playoffs in Dallas. On the other side, BIG have only recently started showing some life but even that was against weaker opponents – so they still have a lot more to prove before it's wise to start believing in them, especially now, as BIG are playing under a new coach.
