CS Asia Championships 2023 is an upcoming Counter-Strike 2 esports tournament slated to kick off on Wednesday, November 8, in Shanghai, China. It'll mark the third iteration of the Perfect World-hosted Counter-Strike tournament and the first since 2019.

Since it was first announced, two teams have withdrawn from CS Asia Championships 2023, including Team Liquid, who are amid a roster restructure, and G2 Esports, who recently unveiled that they won't travel to China, likely due to potential roster changes in the coming weeks.

In their place, Perfect World announced Ninjas in Pyjamas and Wings Up Gaming as two replacement teams; however, neither is expected to make it very far and are priced as two underdogs on the Counter-Strike outright betting market.

According to the offered Counter-Strike betting odds, FaZe Clan (2.75) are the main favourites to win CS Asia Championships 2023. That makes a lot of sense, even though FaZe Clan haven't looked good for most of the year.

After a strong start to 2023, when FaZe Clan won ESL Pro League Season 17, the European squad has not managed to find the same level of success over the next six months. They added a semifinal appearance at IEM Dallas 2023 in June and won BLAST Premier: Fall Groups 2023 in July, but besides the two tournaments, FaZe haven't looked great.

Still, despite the long dry streak, FaZe Clan found momentum on the new game version and won Intel Extreme Masters Sydney 2023 in late October. With that, FaZe won the first S-Tier CS2 tournament and put themselves on the map as a serious threat to win any upcoming CS2 event.

MOUZ (3.50) are priced as second favourites on the CS Asia Championships 2023 outright betting markets and are considered a serious threat to FaZe Clan and their title aspirations. MOUZ, who have had their moments throughout the year, came out of nowhere to win ESL Pro League Season 18 and carried over the momentum to IEM Sydney 2023, where they made the semifinals and lost against the eventual champions, FaZe Clan.

Having shown that the transition to a new game version hasn't affected them too much, MOUZ are a team that can impress in Shanghai.

ENCE (3.50) enter CS Asia Championships 2023 as third-favourites to win the tournament. ENCE, unlike FaZe Clan, achieved plenty over the last few months and proved themselves as one of the most consistent CS teams in the scene.

ENCE won IEM Dallas 2023 and collected silver medals from ESL Challenger Katowice 2023, IEM Cologne 2023, and Gamers8 2023. Before the transition to CS2, ENCE also made the semifinals of ESL Pro League Season 18 and BLAST Premier: Fall European Showdown 2023. Unfortunately, they weren't nearly as successful in Sydney.

At IEM Sydney 2023, ENCE crashed out in fifth-sixth place following a 0-2 loss against FaZe Clan, which alone is a good enough reason to have them priced at higher odds than FaZe. Moreover, ENCE will travel to China without Paweł "dycha" Dycha, who wasn't able to secure a visa, which further harms ENCE's chances to go all the way.

Astralis (6.00) join the list of teams that could do well at CS Asia Championships 2023; however, the Danes haven't looked great recently. Astralis have not won a single notable tournament in 2023, and they haven't looked amazing at ESL Pro League Season 18 (13th-16th) or Roobet Cup 2023 (13th-16th).

Even though Astralis have more than enough talent to do well at any big event, their poor form makes it tough to believe that Astralis can make it far. On the other hand, there aren't that many teams that stand in their way, so having them priced at 6.00 fairly reflects Astralis' chances to win the CS Asia Championships 2023.

Priced at 10.00, Ninjas in Pyjamas must hope that a lot of things go their way to leave a mark at the CS Asia Championships 2023. NiP haven't won much recently, and their performances at ThunderPick World Championship 2023 (13th-16th) and Roobet Cup 2023 (9th-12th) leave little to feel excited about.

Moreover, NiP have recently made roster changes, which likely won't help them much as they clash with some of the top Counter-Strike teams in China. However, while NiP still have enough talent to do well, the rest of the teams attending CS Asia Championships 2023 don't.

Local squads in TYLOO (101.00), Lynn Vision (151.00), and Wings Up Gaming (151.00) enter CS Asia Championships 2023  as complete outsiders, and rightly so. The three Chinese squads hail from a much weaker region, and neither has won or come close to winning a single big event this season.

While home-ground advantage might give them an edge, it's highly unlikely that either of the three teams will make it any further than the first round of the playoffs.
