Skin betting site CSGO Empire announced CSGOEmpire Cup, a Counter-Strike tournament which is set to take place from April 3-19. The event will welcome 30 Counter-Strike teams and offer a $50,000 prize pool.

The tournament organiser partnered with Fortuna Esports, who will take over the management, production, and administration of the event, as well as broadcast the matches on its Twitch channel.

Named CSGOEmpire Cup, the Counter-Strike tournament will feature 30 teams, who will be split into one of three stages – Play-In, Main Stage, and Playoffs. Each stage will have its own set of direct invites, with some of the invitees already announced.

"As a brand, we've historically been pretty shy, so we haven't really put ourselves out there much. 2024 is when we change that — by the end of this year, everyone will know our name and hear what we have to say," said Dušan "shaN" Pećić, Marketing Manager at CSGOEmpire.

So far, CSGO Empire has announced eight teams who received a direct invite to the Main Stage, six Counter-Strike teams who were invited to the Play-In stage, and four squads with a direct bye to the playoffs.

  • Play-In Stage: MOUZ NXT, VP.Prodigy, Rhyno, Team Secret, JANO, Astralis Talent
  • Main Stage: BLEED Esports, Nexus Gaming, ENTERPRISE Esports, Permitta, Sampi, Sangal Esports, SINNERS Esports, and ENCE Academy
  • Playoffs: GamerLegion, HAVU, 9 Pandas, and 3DMAX

With 18 teams already invited to the tournament, CSGO Empire still needs to invite 12 more squads to fill the tournament, before it kicks off on April 3. There will be no qualifiers.

CSGOEmpire Cup Format

CSGOEmpire Cup will be divided into three stages – the Play-In Stage, the Main Stage, and the Playoffs.

The tournament will kick off with single-elimination play-ins where the teams will play in best-of-three (BO3) series.

The top two teams from the play-ins will advance to the Main Stage, which will feature 16 teams and a Swiss-style format with all matches played as best-of-three (BO3). The top eight teams will join eight directly invited teams in a single-elimination BO3 playoff.
