ENCE announced on Tuesday, October 31, that Paweł “dycha” Dycha wouldn’t travel with the team to China for CS Asia Championships 2023 because he failed to obtain a visa. Instead, ENCE will compete in the tournament with Vladan “VLDN” Radevic as a stand-in.

CS Asia Championships 2023 is an upcoming Counter-Strike 2 esports tournament set to kick off on November 8. The tournament will welcome some of the world’s best CS teams, including ENCE, who are one of five directly invited teams. However, ENCE won’t travel to China with its full roster.

Due to dycha failing to obtain a visa, he won’t compete at CS Asia Championship 2023 and will get replaced by Serbian CS player VLDN. The 22-year-old replacement is a former member of iNation, who he played for between September 2021 and July 2023, when the project fell apart and released its entire roster.

VLDN has since made an appearance at IESF World Esports Championship 2023 for Team Serbia and won a bronze medal. Over the last month, VLDN was also seen competing at  Roobet Arena Weekend Cup Europe #2 and Svenska Cupen 2023: Open Qualifier #3 with b00m and In I DImman stacks.

Even though VLDN has proven himself as a solid player, the loss of dycha is a huge blow for ENCE and the team’s chances to win the CS Asia Championships 2023. Dycha is one of the top-performing players of ENCE, with a 1.09 average performance rating since he joined the team in January 2021.

For CS Asia Championships 2023, ENCE have been seeded into Group A alongside Lynn Vision, Astralis, and TYLOO, which should be a fairly easy group to get out of, regardless of the handicap. However, going all the way and winning the lion’s share of the $500,000 prize pool might prove to be tricker without dycha.

ENCE will play their first match with VLDN on Wednesday, November 8, when they face off against TYLOO.
