On Monday, November 27, ENCE announced the signing of Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander and Jakub “kuben” Gurczynski. The news comes shortly after ENCE parted ways with in-game leader Marco “Snappi” Pfeiffer and coach Eetu “sAw” Saha.

By joining ENCE, gla1ve will return to competitive Counter-Strike for the first time since June, when he was benched from Astralis. The 28-year-old has spent seven years with the Danish team and led Astralis to four Major titles.

His success over the last half a decade has earned gla1ve the tag as one of the best and most accomplished in-game leaders in the history of Counter-Strike, and he’ll now have a chance to show his impact at another team for the first time since he heft Heroic in October 2016.

Joining gla1ve in his return to competitive CS is kuben, who has a plethora of experience as a coach. He started his coaching career with Virtus.pro in February 2015 and has since led Team Envy, MAD Lions, and Apeks, who he left in September 2023 after helping the team reach the semifinals of BLAST.tv Paris Major.

The duo will take over the spots left by Snappi and sAw, completing ENCE’s new roster. ENCE’s general manager Niklas "Willkey" Ojalainen talked about the recent roster changes in a blog post, welcoming the new additions.

"We had our eyes on Jakub already three years ago, but our collaboration did not work out at that time. Now it's the perfect time for us to see what we can do together. We needed someone to fill the big shoes Eetu left empty, and Jakub was free, so it was no no-brainer move for us."
"This man needs no introduction. We are honoured to have with us one of the greatest IGLs of all time, a four-time Major winner and the mastermind behind the legendary Astralis era. ENCE is now the first new team for gla1ve since joining Astralis in 2016, and we look forward to where his experience and expertise will lead us."

ENCE will showcase its new Counter-Strike roster at Elisa Masters Espoo 2023, which is set to kick off on Wednesday, November 29. ENCE will start the tournament in Group A alongside Fnatic, GamerLegion, and HAVU, who gla1ve and co. will face off on Wednesday.
