On Tuesday, December 19, Evil Geniuses announced the departure of Paytyn "junior" Johnson and Jeorge "Jeorge" Endicott. With the duo leaving the team, Evil Geniuses are left with just two active players, having already lost Jadan “HexT” Postma and Vincent “Brehze” Cayonte.

Evil Geniuses Counter-Strike division has undergone significant roster changes over the last month. At the end of November, EG parted ways with HexT and Brehze, who left to join NRG Esports’ new Counter-Strike project, and on Tuesday, EG also lost Jeorge and junior.

This leaves Evil Geniuses with just three active members on the roster, including Timothy “automatic” Ta, Colby “Walco” Walsh, and coach Tommy ”Axed” Ryan. These changes not only see EG lose most of its Counter-Strike lineup, but also a spot in the PGL Major Copenhagen RMR NA closed qualifier due to losing its core.

This would mean that Evil Geniuses’ spot at the NA RMR will be awarded to Wildcard Gaming, who are next in line in Valve’s rankings.

Although yet to be confirmed, automatic is expected to take a break from competing in early 2024, once his contract with Evil Geniuses ends. If the reports are correct, Evil Geniuses will have just one active player on their Counter-Strike roster by the end of January.

Evil Geniuses Reportedly Looking To Exit CS

The recent changes come shortly following reports that Evil Geniuses are set to drop their Counter-Strike 2 roster and exit the CS scene. The decision follows internal struggles and financial problems within the organisation.

This was further confirmed earlier this week when Evil Geniuses lost its BLAST Premier partnership to Cloud9 who outbid the NA esports organisation.

Junior and Jeorge To Nouns

While Junior and Jeorge have yet to announce which team they’ll join, the duo has been linked with Nouns Esports, where they’re expected to replace David “cynic” Polster and Brendan “Bwills” Williams.
For nouns, the signings make a lot of sense, considering the team’s lack of success over the last few months. In November, Nouns Esports crashed out from ESL Challenger at DreamHack Winter 2023 in fifth-sixth place and have since not produced much.

This month, Nouns exited ESL Challenger League Season 46: North America and later added silver medals from two C-Tier events, Mythic Winter Cup 2023 and ESEA Cash Cup: North America - Autumn 2023 #7.

Currently ranked no.41 in the world and third in the North American region, Nouns’s recent signing should help the team improve and give the roster a bit more firepower. However, we might need to wait a bit longer before we see the new lineup in action.

Nouns have no confirmed tournaments on their schedule until the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: North American Qualifier, set for January 12-14.
