On Thursday, October 19, Russian Counter-Strike team 1win announced the departure of Dmitriy "hooch" Bogdanov. The 36-year-old coach leaves 1win after eight months of service despite the team producing solid results over the last couple of months.

Hooch joined 1win in February 2023 as a highly experienced Counter-Strike coach who previously led Winstrike Team, EPG Family, and Entropiq. However, he hasn't found much success at the start of his journey with the Russian squad.

1win struggled to accomplish much in their competitive endeavours early into 2023 and didn't win a tournament until May when 1win came out of nowhere to claim the BetBoom Playlist. Freedom title and $80,000 in tournament winnings. Since then, 1win have found some success here and there, adding another tournament title at CCT Central Europe Series #7 in August, but it wasn't until late September that 1win truly came into their own.

After a long dry streak, 1win won two back-to-back titles at CCT Online Finals #3 and CCT East Europe Series #2. However, despite their recent resurgence, the Russian squad will wave goodbye to their head coach.

Hooch elaborated on the reason for his departure, stating that while the team had good results in the last months, he feels like it's time to make a change as the CS:GO scene fully transitions to Counter-Strike 2.

"With some players on this team we worked together for like three years, and I think it will be better for both sides to have changes. There is no bad blood, it's just sometimes time to go. I'm really thankful to everyone and wish them all the best."
"I decided to look for other opportunities and have a fresh start in Counter-Strike 2, so let's see what the future holds for me."

Hooch has accomplished a lot with 1win over the eight months he has spent with the team, especially over the last two months; however, 1win have never qualified for a big event. Still, the lack of accomplishments at the highest level was not the reason for hooch's departure as much as it was his decision to look for a fresh start.

1win have yet to announce who'll replace hooch as the new head coach.
