Imperial Esports and SAW will clash on Friday, April 26, in the lower bracket quarterfinals of ESL Pro League Season 19. It'll mark their first meeting of 2024, and according to esports betting odds, Imperial Esports should win.

Counter-Strike bookmakers have Imperial Esports priced as 1.72 favourites and SAW as 2.00 underdogs for the upcoming series. But considering neither team showed much, it's tough to call out a favourite.

  • Imperial Esports have lost to FaZe Clan and Eternal Fire
  • SAW have lost against 3DMAX and Virtus.pro
  • A must-win game for both teams

Head to Head

SAW and Imperial Esports have yet to meet this year.

Imperial Esports Form

Imperial Esports have yet to win a game this tournament, but they also had a very tough schedule. In the first round, the Brazilian Counter-Strike team lost to FaZe Clan, and on Wednesday, they failed to make it past Eternal Fire.

Both series were fairly one-sided, especially the one against FaZe, which ended in 10-13, 6-13. Against Eternal Fire, Imperial Esports won the first map (Mirage 13-10) but got crushed on the final two with 4-13 on Anubis and 9-13 on Inferno.

Imperial Esports clearly haven't looked great recently, but they also had to play two strong teams, for which they deserve some slack. That said, even before the ESL Pro League, Imperial haven't shown much, as they've only beaten other local teams.

Imperial Esports Squad & Team News

Imperial Esports have not announced any changes.

  • João "felps" Vasconcellos

  • Lucas "decenty" Bacelar

SAW Form

SAW didn't need long to drop down to the lower bracket of Group A at ESL Pro League. They lost their opening match against 3DMAX (0-2) and were jus as inefficient against Virtus.pro (0-2) in the previous round.

Against 3DMAX, SAW were in a good spot to win, as they forced overtime on both maps. But when faced with Virtus.pro, SAW looked toothless, which only confirms that SAW aren't ready to compete with the top teams attending the event.

Verdict

Neither SAW or Imperial Esports have impressed with their recent showings, which makes it hard to say which of the two teams is more likely to win. While esports betting sites have SAW priced as underdogs, this doesn't sound fair, not because SAW performed well in March or early this month, but because Imperial Esports have hardly shown much more lately.

This looks like a close game, but I'm leaning more towards SAW, which makes them an excellent pick at even odds.
