On Wednesday, January 17, MOUZ NXT announced the signing of Denys "Burmylov" Buraga. The 16-year-old Counter-Strike player joins MOUZ's academy team as a replacement for Bram "Nexius" Campana, who recently left for OG.

Burmylov is MOUZ NXT's first signing of 2024 and the first since September 2023, when MOUZ NXT signed Ryan "Neityu" Aubry. Moreover, joining MOUZ NXT marks a huge step up in Burmylov's career.

He started his Counter-Strike esports career in December 2022 with Lazer Cats, who he has been a part of ever since.

Yet despite his lack of experience competing at the highest level, Burmylov joins MOUZ NXT as a very promising player. He averaged a 1.21 performance rating during his tenure with Lazer Cats. However, even with those numbers, Burmylov and three other players were moved to the bench as a part of Lazer Cats' squad overhaul process.

Despite replacing Nexius, Burmylov will take up the AWP role from Christoffer "Chr1zN" Storgaard, freeing up the Dane to focus on rifling and in-game leading.

MOUZ NXT coach Tobias "TOBIZ" Theo talked about the new signing, praising Burmylov for his talent and potential.

"He is humble, a fast learner and has incredible gameplay, which has made it easy to confirm what we have seen since we first noticed him a year ago."
"With the conditions we can provide, I am sure we will see a future top-tier AWPer."

Burmylov is expected to debut for MOUZ NXT on Friday, January 19, when the European Counter-Strike squad clashes with Astralis Talent in the upper bracket final at European Pro League Season 14: Division 2.

At at the European Pro League Season 14: Division 2, MOUZ NXT won Group C with a perfect record and have since added a forfeit win against The Prodigies and Aurora Young Blud, setting themselves up nicely to claim the first tournament title of 2024.

Earlier this month, MOUZ NXT attended HATOR Games #1, where they crashed out in fifth-eighth place.
