MOUZ vs G2 Esports Predictions

MOUZ and G2 Esports will meet on Thursday, May 9, in the quarterfinals of ESL Pro League Season 19. It’ll mark their second meeting of the year and the first since Intel Extreme Masters Chengdu 2024 when G2 Esports won.

Counter-Strike bookmakers have G2 Esports priced as 1.90 underdogs and MOUZ as 1.80 favourites for the upcoming series. Even though G2 Esports won their last meeting with MOUZ, they’ve not looked great so far this tournament, which explains the offered price.

  • MOUZ are still undefeated
  • G2 Esports have had a few close calls on the way to the quarterfinals
  • MOUZ are in good form

Head to Head

MOUZ and G2 Esports last met during Intel Extreme Masters Chengdu 2024, when G2 Esports won.

  • G2 Esports 2-0 MOUZ – April 13, 2024

MOUZ haven’t won any tournaments this year yet. But they did win PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: European RMR B, reach semifinals of Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2024 and placed second at IEM Chengdu 2024 before travelling to Malta.

Despite the lack of trophies, MOUZ have been playing well over the last four months and have beaten many of the world’s top teams, which helped them reach the no.3 spot on the global Counter-Strike esports ladder.

So far, at ESL Pro League Season 19, MOUZ haven’t struggled much. They defeated Bad News Kangaroos (2-0), GamerLegion (2-0), and Team Liquid (2-0) to win Group C. But while they’re in good form, G2 Esports should present them with the toughest challenge of the tournament.

G2 Esports Form

G2 Esports reached the quarterfinals of ESL Pro League Season 19, but they had a few bumps on the road here. They barely made it through the group stage, securing the final playoff ticket from Group B with a close victory against M80.

In the first round of the playoffs, G2 Esports squeezed their way past BIG after a remarkable comeback on Inferno. G2 trailed 4-12 and ended up winning in overtime with 19-16. Their streak of shaky showings continued into the Round of 12, where G2 Esports edged past 3DMAX (2-1).

Even though this is a highly talented team, G2 Esports haven’t looked good, even when faced with weaker opponents. So like it’s the case with MOUZ, this will be G2’s toughest match of ESL Pro League so far.

G2 Esports Squad & Team News

No changes for G2 Esports.

  • Nemanja "huNter-" Kovač
  • Nikola "NiKo" Kovač
  • Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov
  • Rasmus "HooXi" Nielsen
  • Nemanja "nexa" Isaković

Neither team have played as strong of an opponent so far this tournament than what awaits them on Thursday. So while most of their previous fixtures prove nothing, there no denying that MOUZ have performed much better.

And it’s not only that MOUZ are in better form. They have also proven, over the last few months, that they’re an elite-level team. G2 Esports have had their moments as well and, at times, looked like one of the top CS squads in the world. But they’ve not been consistent and their shaky showings so far this tournament suggest G2 might not be ready to face MOUZ.
