On Sunday, November 19, FaZe Clan announced Filip "NEO" Kubski will stay with the team as a head coach of FaZe Clan's Counter-Strike team. The news follows NEO's successful trial with the team he joined in July 2023.

The Polish Counter-Strike legend joined FaZe Clan as a trial head coach in July, following the abrupt departure of Robert "RobbaN" Dahlström, who decided to quit coaching and move on to new challenges. To fill in the gap, FaZe Clan acquired NEO, who had no previous experience as a Counter-Strike coach, but the gamble paid off.

Initially, FaZe Clan showed signs of struggles under NEO and produced underwhelming results in the first three events. Under the guidance of the retired Polish CS star, FaZe Clan crashed out of Intel Extreme Masters Cologne 2023, Gamers8 2023, and ESL Pro League Season 18 in ninth-12th, ninth-16th, and ninth-12th-place.

However, things took a sudden turn for the better since the transition to Counter-Strike 2. On the new game version, FaZe Clan showed an entirely different form and won three consecutive events, including Intel Extreme Masters Sydney 2023, CS Asia Championships 2023, and ThunderPick World Championship 2023, establishing themselves as the best CS2 team in the world.

FaZe Clan, who are now on a 15-game winning streak (and 15-1 since the transition to CS2), are set to add two more tournament titles to their resume until the end of the year, as they will compete at the BLAST Premier: Fall Final and BLAST Premier World Final.

However, while FaZe Clan are in exceptional form and seem ready to add more titles to their cabinet, the team is reportedly nearing significant roster changes, with Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken said to be close to joining Team Liquid, three years after signing for FaZe Clan.

The deal has yet to be officially confirmed; however, while Twistzz might leave FaZe Clan in the coming weeks, the North American esports organisation at least managed to secure NEO as the head coach of its Counter-Strike project.

FaZe Clan will play their next match on Wednesday, November 22, when they face off against Ninjas in Pyjamas in the first round of BLAST Premier: Fall Final 2023.
