Ninjas in Pyjamas vs ENCE Predictions

Ninjas in Pyjamas and ENCE will clash on Wednesday, June 5, in the first round of the group stage at YaLLa Compass 2024. It’ll mark their first meeting of the year, and according to the esports betting odds, there is no clear favourite.

Counter-Strike bookmakers have Ninjas in Pyjamas priced at 1.88 to defeat ENCE, who enter the match priced at 1.82. This suggests there is not much to set the teams apart, and based on their recent showings, that’s a fair assessment.

  • Ninjas in Pyjamas have won four of their last ten series
  • ENCE share the same 4-6 record
  • Neither team is in good form

Head to Head

ENCE and Ninjas in Pyjamas have yet to meet this season.

Ninjas in Pyjamas Form

Ninjas in Pyjamas are in a very rough spot ahead of YaLLa Compass 2024, where they’re not expected to make it very far. As one of the underdogs on the outright betting markets, Ninjas in Pyjamas are priced as one of the main candidates to exit the event early, and it’s easy to see why.

Ninjas in Pyjamas have not won nor come close to winning a single Counter-Strike esports tournament this season. Their most notable accomplishment was finishing top six at Skyesports Masters 2024, yet when faced with tougher opposition, they failed to make it that far.

To make matters worse, Ninjas in Pyjamas placed ninth-12th at RES European Series #4, which was a B-Tier tournament featuring mostly lesser teams. And if that performance is any indication, Ninjas in Pyjamas should have no business winning YaLLa Compass 2024.

Ninjas in Pyjamas Squad & Team News

Ninjas in Pyjamas signed Isak “isak” Fahlen on May 8. He has since played just six maps with the team.

  • Fredrik "REZ" Sterner
  • Alejandro "alex" Masanet
  • Max "maxster" Jansson
  • Artem "r1nkle" Moroz
  • Isak “isak” Fahlen

ENCE Form

ENCE, like Ninjas in Pyjamas, aren’t in great form, and they’ve also not won a single tournament so far this season. They had managed better results, most notably by finishing CCT Season 1 Global Finals in fifth-eighth place, although one somewhat decent run doesn’t really prove much.

Form-wise, ENCE are in the same spot as Ninjas in Pyjamas, with four wins from their last ten series. Those include victories against Fnatic, Gaimin Gladiators, Monte, and Bad News Kangaroos and defeats against GamerLegion, AMKAL, FURIA Esports, Fnatic, and Team Liquid.

Not the most inspiring results, but ENCE had to play tougher opponents than Ninjas in Pyjamas, so we could say their wins mean more.

ENCE Squad & Team News

At the end of May, ENCE added Paavo “podi” Heiskanen and Viktor “sdy” Orudzhev to their lineup. The duo have played just three maps with the team so far.

  • Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander
  • Krzysztof "Goofy" Górski
  • Kacper "Kylar" Walukiewicz
  • Viktor "sdy" Orudzhev
  • Paavo "podi" Heiskanen

Verdict

Both teams have made some roster changes recently in a bid to find more success, but neither have managed to show any notable improvement. Since the latest additions haven’t had a chance to fully settle into a new environment, that’s to be expected.

According to the esports betting odds, there’s not much to separate ENCE and Ninjas in Pyjamas, and considering how weak they’ve looked recently, it’s hard to find a good reason to heavily favour one over the other. Still, if I had to pick a side, ENCE look like the better team.

Their record is far from good, but ENCE had to play tougher opponents than NiP of late and yet they managed the same record. Over 21.5 rounds could be interesting, knowing how inconsistent the two teams are, but I’ll stick with ENCE to get it done.
