On Monday, January 22, PGL announced the distribution of Counter-Strike teams in the two European Regional Major Ranking (RMR) tournaments. The events will take place in February and welcome 32 teams competing for 17 spots at the Major.

European RMRs will take place on February 17-24 and welcome 32 Counter-Strike teams from all over the continent. As the final qualifying events for the upcoming PGL Major Copenhagen 2024, the RMRs will award direct invites to the Major, which I scheduled for March 17-31 in Copenhagen, Denmark.


The teams invited to the EU RMRs include 11 teams based on their result at the BLAST Paris Major and 21 teams who have qualified for the RMRs through the closed qualifiers.

Each of the two EU RMRs will feature a five-round Swiss Stage. All matches are best-of-one (Bo1), except for the Elimination and Advancement matches, which will be played as best-of-three (Bo3).

The seeding for rounds three to five will be determined by the Buchholz system – a ranking based on opponents’ performance.

Top eight teams will earn a ticket for the opening or the elimination matches of the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 – based on their Valve’s Regional Standings rank, while the teams who finish ninth-11th will proceed to the last-chance decider stage, where one final spot will be up for grabs.

EU RMR A will kick off on February 14 and conclude on February 17, while EU RMR B will start on February 19 and conclude on February 22. The RMR decider will start a day later, on February 23 and conclude the next day, on February 24, unveiling the final European Counter-Strike team to attend the first Counter-Strike 2 Major.
