Poizon Joins Bravado Gaming For Major Qualifier

On Wednesday, January 10, the South African Counter-Strike team announced the signing of former Fnatic player Valentin "poizon" Vasilev. The 25-year-old joins Bravado Gaming ahead of the PGL Major Copenhagen qualifiers and returns to pro play after nearly one year.

Poizon will replace Thomas "Spitfire" James Venables, who recently replaced Aaron "SloWye" van der Walt, who retired from pro play. The signing, however, might not be permanent.

As stated by Bravado, poizon joined the team to help the team in their attempt to qualify for the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 through the Middle Eastern closed qualifiers. The statement hinted that poizon could stay with the team longer if the two parties considered the venture a success.

Bravado's founder and director, Dimitri "Detrony" Hadjipaschali, commented on the move.

"I'm delighted to have poizon stand in and to have him as a part of the team for the Major. I think the feeling is mutual of how this can benefit both parties."

Poizon Returns To Pro Play

Poizon made his professional debut in February 2017 with BPro Gaming but made a name for himself with Windigo Gaming in 2018-2019 before getting picked up by Complexity Gaming as a part of the new "juggernaut" roster. While poizon averaged a respectable 1.08 rating with Complexity, the North American squad failed to accomplish much and eventually fell apart.

After leaving Complexity, poizon joined Fnatic on trial; however, his stint with the European team was fairly brief, as he got benched from the team after just two months. Since leaving Fnatic's starting lineup in August 2022, poizon has appeared in some lesser tournaments with OnlineBOTS and VOYVODA, but struggled to find a new home.

Now, after nearly one year of sitting on the sidelines, poizon has signed his first contract, which will see him re-enter the competitive Counter-Strike scene at PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: Middle Eastern Qualifier, set to kick off on January 19, 2024.
