On Tuesday, January 16, Preasy Esports announced they're open to new ownership. The organisation is put up for sale to an entity or individual as the Danish esports organisation looks for funding ahead of the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024.

The decision was made following Preasy Esports' rise up the global Counter-Strike ladder, reaching the world no.32 rank and earning an invite to the closed qualifiers for the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024.

Currently owned by Michael Hertz, who founded the organisation in April 2023, giving it the same name as his electricity subscription company, Preasy.

In the announcement, Hertz said:

"With a mix of joy and contemplation, I announce my decision to sell our beloved sports club. This decision has grown out of the remarkable development where Preasy Esport has evolved into more than just a side venture."

A Promising Lineup

Preasy Esports debuted in the Counter-Strike scene in June 2023 and initially had a slow start. Preasy failed to accomplish much in the first three months outside of winning a couple of qualifiers but then found some success at CCT Online Finals #3 in September when they placed third.

Another short dry streak followed until October when Preasy made the semifinals of CCT East Europe Series #3. However, despite all the ups and downs, Preasy ended 2023 strong, with two titles from CCT Online Finals #4 and European Pro League Season 12.

Since the team's inception, Preasy Esports have made several roster changes, most recently in November and December, when the Danish Counter-Strike team signed Frederik "roeJ" Christensen and Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen.

Now fielding a competitive lineup, Preasy are looking for a new owner as the team gets ready for the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: European Qualifier B, set to kick off on Thursday, January 18, 2024.
