On Monday, January 1, Sashi Esports announced the signing of Johannes "b0RUP" Borup, who joins the team as a temporary solution. As confirmed by the Danish esports organisation, b0RUP has signed only a two-month contract.

B0RUP is the final missing piece of Sashi Esports' new Counter-Strike lineup. The Danish team started a roster overhaul process in December, following a turbulent year in which the team fielded 18 different players.

However, things have recently stabilised with the addition of Frederik "Fessor" Sørensen and Nikolaj "niko" Kristensen, who linked up with Mikkel "n1Xen" Borlund and Marting "nut nut" Holm Vestergaard. With the addition of b0RUP, Sashi Esports field a full Danish Counter-Strike roster at least until March, when b0RUP's contract runs out.

An Experienced Player Joins

B0RUP is a highly experienced player who started his esports career in August 2015 with Team Refuse. He has since played for dozen of squads, including Tricked Esports, FunPlus Phoenix, MAD Lions, Heroic, and Astralis.

After proving his worth with Tricked Esports, b0RUP moved to Heroic, where he enjoyed a lot of success. With the Danish team, b0RUP won ESL One: Cologne 2020 Online – Europe, claimed a bronze medal from ESL Pro League Season 12: Europe and made the semifinals of DreamHack Open Fall 2020.

After leaving Heroic, success was hard to come by for the Danish rifler until he joined Astralis in June 2023. During his fairly short stint with Astralis, b0RUP helped the team reach the semifinals of Intel Extreme Masters Cologne 2023 and CS Asia Championships 2023; however, despite the team's success late in 2023, b0RUP found himself benched in November.

It's unclear whether b0RUP will extend his stay with Sashi Esports, but we should get a clearer answer in two months once his contract runs out.
