Team Liquid vs ENCE Predictions

Team Liquid and ENCE will meet on Tuesday, May 21, in the first round of CCT Season 1 Global Finals Playoffs. It'll mark their first meeting with their current rosters, and according to the esports betting odds, Liquid should win.

Counter-Strike betting sites have Team Liquid priced as 1.44 favourites to defeat ENCE, who enter the match as 2.62 underdogs. And considering what Liquid showed at the ESL Pro League earlier this month, that price sounds fair.

  • Team Liquid placed top eight at ESL Pro League Season 19
  • ENCE ended the tournament in 21st-28th-place
  • Liquid (#11) are higher rated than ENCE (#22)

Head to Head

ENCE and Team Liquid haven't met once since August 2023.

Team Liquid Form

Team Liquid didn't accomplish much early into the year and they weren't very successful in any of the bigger Counter-Strike esports tournaments until April. But over the last two months, Liquid have shown some improvement, with a top-six finish at Intel Extreme Masters Chengdu 2024 an, most recently, a playoff appearance at ESL Pro League Season 19.

Seeing Liquid make it so far in the ESL Pro League after a relatively underwhelming run throughout the season is impressive. But they also didn't have to defeat any great teams.

In Malta, Team Liquid win against FURIA (2-1), Monte (2-1), and FlyQuest (2-1), but lost against Astralis (0-2) and MOUZ (0-2). While losing to Astralis and MOUZ isn't too worrying, beating FlyQuest, Monte, and FURIA isn't impressive either.

ENCE haven't won or come close to winning a single tournament so far this year. They placed 20th-22th at PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 and earlier this month finished ESL Pro League Season 19 in 21st-28th-place.

The lack of accomplishment is concerning and it makes it clear that ENCE need to change something up if they wish to compete at the top level. This was especially noticeable at ESL Pro League, where ENCE defeated only Monte and Bad News Kangaroos but lost to FURIA and GamerLegion twice.

Given their lacklustre showings, it's easy to doubt ENCE and their ability to do well at the CCT Season 1 Global Finals. But they're up against a team not known for consistency, so perhaps there's hope.

ENCE Squad & Team News

No changes for ENCE.

ENCE's form is rough, and with no noticeable improvement shown over the last few weeks, it's hard to imagine them bouncing back anytime soon. However, while ENCE haven't looked good in recent events, this is an online tournament which could help them perform better.

Liquid are praised highly for their recent display at ESL Pro League and while they deserve recognition for it, Liquid are not a consistent team. Moreover, they had not beaten any good teams in Malta, which further makes me doubt whether they're priced at a fair price.
