On Monday, January 8, Team Secret announced their return to the Counter-Strike scene.
The new roster is headlined by Israeli sniper Guy "anarkez" Trachtmanand Pawel "innocent " Mocek, who linked up with Vladan "Kind0" Mandic, Mikkel "Maze" Sparvath, and Sebastian "Tauson" Tauson.

Kind0 joins Team Secret as a former member of a Serbian Counter-Strike team iNation, with who he competed in mostly lesser tournaments. In-game leader Maze is a Danish player who previously competed with Fnatic Rising and has spent the last eight months with Ambush, with who he won the Preasy Summer Cup 2023.

His compatriot Tauson has made a name for himself competing with MASONIC in 2022-23 and was last seen competing with Sporut Academy. With the German team Tauson won European Pro League Season 10 and claimed two silver medals from CCT East Europe Series #2 and CCT East Europe Series #4.

Of the new roster, innocent and anarkez are the two most recognisable names, with the former returning to Counter-Strike after spending the last year on the sidelines. The 30-year-old was last seen competing in February 2023 when he took a break for mental health purposes following Anonymo Esports' failed attempt to qualify for Paris Major.

"It's very refreshing for me to join a team with a really professional approach, one where the actions of a player drive everyone else to work harder and do better. I'm sure that this will translate into good results and that we will put ourselves on the competitive map."

Anarkez needs no special introduction to European Counter-Strike fans. The 24-year-old has over his seven-year-old career played for several teams, including HellRaisers, Team Finest, and most recently Dynamo Eclot.

Anarkez was also a part of the previous Team Secret roster in 2019-2020.

Team Secret Return After Three Years

The European esports organisation is mostly known for its success in the Dota 2 scene, having made multiple deep runs at the prestigious The International. However, while Team Secret have achieved the most in the Dota 2 scene, the European organisation also previously fielded a CS roster.

Team Secret entered the Counter-Strike scene in 2016 and again in 2019 after releasing the lineup at the start of 2017. The team would again release its entire Counter-Strike division at the end of 2020, following a long streak of underwhelming results, failing to win a single tournament throughout 2020.

However, despite not winning much in their last two stints in the Counter-Strike scene, Team Secret have decided to return for the PGL Major Copenhagen qualifiers, looking to qualify for the first Counter-Strike 2 Major, set to kick off in March 2024.
