During the HLTV Award Show, Team Vitality were named the Counter-Strike team of the year for 2023. The French squad finished ahead of FaZe Clan and G2 Esports, having won the most trophies last season.

Team Vitality ended 2023 with an impressive haul of trophies. The team won the Paris Major, Intel Extreme Masters Rio, Gamers 8 2023, and the BLAST Premier: World Final, solidifying their status as the most successful Counter-Strike team of the year.

Their success didn’t go unnoticed, as Vitality were named the Best Team of The Year on Saturday, January 13, during the HLTV Award Show.

The Bees achieved the feat despite making roster changes, replacing Emil “Magisk” Reif and Peter “dupreeh” Rasmusses, and coach Danny “zonic” Sørensen. Still, even without key pieces, Vitality performed admirably well and produced some of the most impressive performance stats in the scene.

Those include a 56.3% map win percentage, 53.4% 4v5 conversion, 55.5% T-Side win and 57% CT-Side win percentage.

Consistently The Best Counter-Strike Team

Team Vitality kicked off 2023 by winning BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2023, to which they added two quarterfinal appearances at Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2023 and ESL Pro League Season 17.

Their streak of solid showings didn’t stop there. Team Vitality reached new heights in April, when they won IEM Rio 2023 and a month later added a Major trophy form Paris Major 2023, solidifying their status as the best Counter-Strike team in the world.

In June, Vitality placed second in BLAST Premier: Spring Final 2023, placed top-six at BLAST Premier: Fall Groups 2023 and made the semifinals of IEM Cologne 2023. After three tournaments with a trophy, Team Vitality kicked into a higher gear and claimed the Gamers8 2023 title before producing two shaky showings at ESL Pro League (fifth-eighth) and IEM Sydney 2023 (13th-16th).

Despite their iffy performance in the first Counter-Strike 2 tournament, Vitality found traction in the final two months of the year. They won BLAST Premier: Fall Final 2023 and ended 2023 with a title from BLAST Premier: World Final 2023.

Even though G2 Esports and FaZe Clan had their fair share of memorable moments in 2023, neither managed to surpass Team Vitality in terms of notable tournaments won, rightfully earning the Bees the title of the best Counter-Strike team of 2023.
