On Monday, April 15, 2024, Virtus.pro announced the signing of former Cloud9 player, Denis "electroNic" Sharipov. The 25-year-old joins VP in a blockbuster as a replacement for Nikolay "mir" Bityukov, who moved to the bench.

ElectroNic's signing comes shortly after Virtus.pro finished Intel Extreme Masters Chengdu 2024 in a respectable fifth-sixth place, as the team looks to bolster its Counter-Strike lineup and find more success in the coming months.

Virtus.pro have had a difficult year so far. They failed to accomplish much at IEM Katowice 2024, where VP didn't make it through the Play-In stage. And last month, Virtus.pro ended PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 outside of the playoffs.

Even though Virtus.pro found more success in Chengdu, the team have been posting mediocre results for the past four months. With this roster change, many expect this to change.

ElectroNic's arrival is a huge boost to Virtus.pro's roster. The 25-year-old is one of the most experienced players in the region and is replacing mir, who has been the lowest-rated player on Virtus.pro, averaging a 0.97 performance rating.

ElectroNic is also a perfect replacement for, as he fills the same role as mir, but comes with significantly more experience, which he gained with Cloud9 and Natus Vincere.

His last stint with Cloud9 didn't net the results many expected the team would accomplish. While Cloud9 remained a formidable force on paper, the team failed to make it past quarter-finals in several big events. Another disaster struck when Dmitry "sh1ro" Sokolov moved to the bench, leaving Cloud9 with the unresolved problem of not fielding a proper AWP.

By letting electroNic go to Virtus.pro, Cloud9 now have a chance to sign an AWPer, which should resolve some of their problems. Likewise, the arrival of electroNic to Virtus.pro will bolster the teams significantly, potentially helping VP break their dry streak.

ElectroNic is expected to debut for Virtus.pro at ESL Pro League Season 19, which will kick off later this month. At the tournament, Virtus.pro have been seeded in Group A, alongside FaZe Clan, Fnatic, Eternal Fire, and Astralis.
