Team Liquid are reportedly looking to sign Counter-Strike coach Wilton "zews" Prado and Felipe "skullz" Medeiros to their lineup. Although yet to be officially confirmed, zews is said to be working with Liquid to construct a new Counter-Strike roster following the team's lack of success over the last few months.
If the reports are true, zews will return to Team Liquid after five years, whereas skullz is said to be transferred from paiN Gaming for $600,000. With skullz and zews' arrival to Team Liquid, the current coach Damian "daps" Steele will be let go from the team as a part of a complete roster revamp.
Team Liquid is also reportedly looking to part ways with Robert "Patsi" Isyanov.
The reported upcoming signing, skullz has been with paiN Gaming for just over one year and has established himself as one of the top players in Brazil. He has averaged the highest performance rating of all players at paiN and has already been approached by other Counter-Striue squads.
Zews, on the other side, is set to join Team Liquid as a free agent. He was last seen coaching Fluxo before zews left the team in July, and hasn't been officially involved in any team.
The 35-year-old is, however, familiar with Team Liquid, who he coached in 2016-2018. During that time, zews has achieved numerous top placements in Big Events, including titles from cs_summit 2 and silver medals from IEM Chicago and ESL One New York.
Since he left Team Liquid, zews has coached MiBR, Evil Geniuses, O Plano, and Fluxo and added two more podium finishes in big events, including a runner-up finish at Flashpoint Season 1 and a title at BLAST Premier: Spring 2020 American Finals.
It's important to note that the roster moves have yet to be officially confirmed; however, according to reliable sources, they should be announced shortly.
If Team Liquid confirm the roster changes this week, we should see the new roster in action at Thunderpick World Championship 2023, which is set to start on October 27, 2023.
