On Wednesday, November 29, Gen.G unveiled its League of Legends roster for the 2024 season. It'll feature three new faces and Jeong "Chovy" Ji-hoon and Kim "Peyz" Su-hwan as the only returning players from the 2023 season.

After weeks of uncertainty and rumours, Gen.G has finally revealed its League of Legends roster for the 2024 season. And while the Korean esports organisation put together a very competitive lineup, the fans are mostly excited to learn that the star mid laner Chovy has decided to re-sign with the team.

Joining Chovy are top laner Kim "Kiin" Gi-in, jungler Kim "Canyon" Geon-bu, ADC Kim "Peyz" Su-hwan, and support Son "Lehends" Si-woo. Moreover, Gen.G unveiled the addition of a new head coach Kim "KIM" Jeong-soo and LoL legend, Cho "Mata" Se-hyeong who joins the team as assistant coach.

Since Gen.G released its 2023 roster on November 20, the organisation has remained quiet about its plans for 2024, leaving the fans wondering whether Gen.G will replace its entire lineup. And while Gen.G didn't hold back with the changes, it seems like the team decided to build a new team around its mid laner.

The major roster overhaul comes after a fairly solid season for Gen.G. They won the LCK Spring and Summer splits, and placed fourth at the Mid-Season Invitational 2023. Unfortunately, Gen.G weren't able to justify their tag as one of the favourites at LoL World Championship 2023, where the Korean side crashed out in fifth-eighth place.

However, it's fair to feel optimistic about what Gen. G's new roster can accomplish.

A Formidable Roster

Besides keeping Chovy, Gen.G managed to acquire some of the top players in their respective roles. That includes top laner Kiin, who spent the last year with KT Rolster, who he helped win the LCK 2023 Summer regular season and made the knockout stage of the LoL World Championship.

Joining Kiin is 2020 world champion jungler Canyon, who left Dplus KIA at the end of 2023 for the first time in his career. The strong top side will link up with ADC Peyz, who got promoted to Gen.G's main lineup in November 2022 and quickly established himself as one of the best ADCs in the league.
Peyz will work alongside new support, Lehends, who returns to Gen.G after spending the last year with KT Rolster.

Having acquired some of the top talent from the region, Gen.G should feel very optimistic about the upcoming season, and it won't take too long before we'll get to see the new roster in action. The 2024 LCK season is set to start in January 2024.
