On Wednesday, January 3, French esports organisation Karmine Corp unveiled their new League of Legends roster for the LoL EMEA Championship 2024. The lineup features known faces for the European LoL fans, including former Fnatic members coach Jakob "YamatoCannon" Mebdi and ADC Elias "Upset" Lipp.

In October 2023, Karmine Corp acquired a slot in the LoL EMEA Championship (LEC) after purchasing 66.67% of a newly formed subsidiary, AK-Game, taking over the spot from Astralis. However, while Karmine Corp were confirmed to debut in Europe's top LoL league in 2024, the French team haven't announced a roster until Wednesday.

In a short video, Karmine Corp unveiled a new exciting lineup featuring some of the top League of Legends talent from LEC and European Regional Leagues (ERLs), including top laner Lucas "Cabochard" Simon-Meslet, jungler Zhou "Bo" Yang-Bo, mid laner Lucas "Saken" Fayard, ADC Upset, and support Raphael "Targamas" Crabbe.

The team will be led by a stacked coaching personnel, featuring former SANDBOX and Fnatic coach YamatoCannon and assistant coaches Chou "Steak" Lu-Hsi and Kevin Edward "Shaves" Tolman, with whom YamatoCannon worked during his time at Fnatic.

A Stacked Roster

Karmine Corp's LoL roster is headlined by ADC Upset, who is one of the most experienced players in the region. He has been competing since 2016, but it wasn't until Upset joined Fnatic in 2020 that he made a name for himself as one of the top players in his position.

Unfortunately, Upset hasn't accomplished much since leaving Fnatic and, in 2023, failed to reach the LoL World Championship with Team Vitality. Similarly, jungler Bo joins Karmine Corp with a lot to prove.

The Chinese jungler joined Team Vitality in 2022 but hasn't achieved much in the LEC and in June 2023, found himself benched from the team. Since then, Bo has been an inactive member of Vitality, although he remains regarded as one of the players with the highest potential in the league.

Rounding up the lineup is top laner Cabochard, mid laner Saken, and support Targamas. Cabochard and Saken are known as two of the best players from ERLs, both having been approached by LEC teams in previous seasons, but they decided to stay in the secondary league.

Targamas, on the other side, is set to return to the LEC after seven months, having competed with G2 Esports in 2022 and Excel Esports, who he represented in the LEC 2023 Winter split.

Karmine Corp will debut in the LEC on Saturday, January 13, when they face off against Fnatic in the third match of the opening week of LEC 2024 Winter.
