Karmine Corp Could Be Close To Joining LEC
French League of Legends team Karmine Corp are reportedly very close to joining the LoL EMEA Championship (LEC) for the 2024 season. Although nothing is official yet, the organisation owner has added more fuel to the rumours with a cryptic tweet.

Karmine Corp are one of the most recognisable European regional League of Legends esports teams and a team many European LoL fans would like to see in the LEC. KC were already very close to joining the top division league in 2022 but were denied a spot; however, things could change ahead of the 2024 season.

As already reported earlier this year, Karmine Corp is one of the frontrunners to join the LEC in the 2024 season and is said to take over the franchised slot from Astralis. This has yet to be officially confirmed, but the ongoing rumours and reports make it seem like KC isn't that far off from achieving its goal.

However, while we don't yet have an official confirmation, Karmine Corp co-owner Kamel "Kameto" Kebir gave the fans a lot of home that it might happen with a cryptic tweet. The tweet consists of a single manga-like image with characters saying, "A man's dream
 Will never die!"

This could be a reference to Kameto's long-time desire to join the LEC – a dream he has had for years, but it has yet to come through. We know how passionate Kameto is about his team joining the European top-division LoL league, as he was very emotional in 2022 when he explained to the fans of the Blue Wall that Karmine Corp wouldn't compete in the LEC that year.

Karmine Corp are easily one of the biggest second-division LoL teams in Europe, boasting a huge fanbase. Much of it has to do with the team's success over the years.

The French LoL team has already won two La Ligue Française (LFL) titles and has four EMEA Masters tournament wins, which makes them the most successful regional teams. Moreover, Karmine Corp has historically fielded very strong teams, consisting of some of the biggest names in the European LoL scene.

That includes Adam "Adam" Maanane, who currently plays Team BDS, former G2 Esports support Raphaël "Targamas" Crabbé, former Team Vitality top laner Lucas "Cabochard" Simon-Meslet, and the legendary Fnatic ADC Carl Martin Erik "Rekkles" Larsson.

Whether Karmine Corp has indeed struck a deal with Astralis to buy its LEC franchised slot remains to be seen. However, it does seem like it's only a matter of time before Karmine Corp confirms its entry to the LEC for the 2024 season.
