KT Rolster started the 2023 League of Legends offseason with a bang, signing two former teammates at DRX, Kim “Deft” Hyuk-kyu and Hong “Pyosik” Chang-hyeon. Deft and Pyosik reunite after one year, having won the LoL World Championship 2022 together.

KT Rolster made it clear that the team has big plans for the offseason, having released all but one player of its 2023 League of Legends roster. However, less than a week after parting ways with Kim "Kiin" Gi-in, Moon "Cuzz" Woo-chan, Kim "Aiming" Ha-ram, and Son "Lehends" Si-woo, KT Rolster already found two replacements.

As confirmed on Saturday, November 25, KT Rolster acquired the services of ADC Deft and jungler Pyosik, who will reunite under the KT Rolster banner after spending one year apart. The duo played for DRX in 2022, when they won the League of Legends World Championship, but went their separate ways for the 2023 season.

Two Former Teammates Reunite

Deft played for Dplus KIA, while Pyosik joined Team Liquid in the LoL Championship Series (LCS) in North America. Neither player managed to emulate their success from a year prior, as both crashed out of LoL Worlds 2023 in the Swiss Stage.

Deft had a better run at LoL Worlds 2023, having managed to win two of five Swiss Stage series, whereas Pyosik’s Team Liquid ended their tournament run without a single win.

Widely regarded as one of the best ADC players in the history of the game, Deft joining KT Rolster confirms that he will continue his career, which spans over 10 years. Over that time, Deft has won an LPL and LCK title, Demacia Cup, LoL Worlds, and the Mid-Season Invitational.

With the signing of Deft and Pyosik, KT Rolster now have three active players on its LoL roster for the 2024 season, including mid laner Gwak "Bdd" Bo-seong, as the only carryover from 2023

With pieces slowly falling in place for KT, the Korean LoL esports team now only needs to sign a top laner and support to complete its lineup.
