League of Legends Coach Mac Has Reached An Agreement With Team Vitality
- Former MAD Lions coach James "Mac" MacCormack will join Vitality for the 2024 season
- Mac is said to leave MAD Lions amid a major team overhaul
- The deal has yet to be officially announced

MAD Lions League of Legends head coach James "Mac" MacCormack is said to have reached an agreement with Team Vitality. While the deal has yet to be finalised, Mac is reportedly set to join the French team as a new head coach.
Veteran LoL coach Mac is one of many MAD Lions members who will be released from the team ahead of the 2024 season due to the major team overhaul. However, despite the abrupt departure from the team he has led for four years, the 29-year-old has already found a new home.
As reported, Mac has signed a three-year deal with Team Vitality, where he'll continue his long and illustrious coaching career, which started in August 2016 when Mac joined Last Remedy. He has since coached Bulldog Esports, Origen, and Millenium, and in December 2017, signed with Splyce – who later became MAD Lions.
Mac has spent six years with the organisation and has achieved a lot. He helped MAD Lions qualify for three LoL World Championships and two Mid-Season Invitationals. Moreover, Mac helped MAD Lions reach the semifinals of MSI 2021 and won three LEC titles in 2021 Spring, 2021 Summer, and 2023 Spring.
However, despite all of his accomplishments, Mac and the rest of MAD Lions coaching staff have found themselves on the chopping block ahead of the 2024 season due to MAD Lions' team overhaul, which will see the team field a majority of Spanish members.
Still, Mac didn't need long to find a new home as he takes over the charge of Team Vitality, who is in the midst of an offseason rebuild. The French squad has reportedly already acquired the services of support Zdravets "Hylissang" Iliev Galabov and ADC Matyáš "Carzzy" Orság, with more changes set to be announced in the coming weeks.
Besides signing new players, Vitality have also reportedly reached an agreement with coach Patrick "Pad" Suckow-Breum, who will join the team alongside Mac.
All roster changes are expected to be officially announced after November 21, when the 2023/24 free agency officially begins.
