Ninjas in Pyjamas vs Invictus Gaming Predictions

Ninjas in Pyjamas and Invictus Gaming will meet on Wednesday, June 19, for the second time of League of Legends Pro League (LPL) 2024 Summer Placements. Invictus Gaming won the first meeting, but according to the esports betting odds, Ninjas in Pyjamas should get their revenge.

League of Legends betting sites have Ninjas in Pyjamas priced as 1.12 favourites, while Stake has Invictus Gaming as 5.30 underdogs. Even though Ninjas in Pyjamas field a much stronger roster, they didn't do well in the first match against IG, which begs the question of whether they deserve to be priced at such a price.

  • Ninjas in Pyjamas are on a two-game losing streak
  • Invictus Gaming have won just one game so far
  • Ninjas in Pyjamas are not consistent

Head to Head

Invictus Gaming last met with Ninjas in Pyjamas in the second week of LPL 2024 Summer Placements, when they won in three maps.

  • Invictus Gaming 2-1 Ninjas in Pyjamas – June 14, 2024

Ninjas in Pyjamas Form

Ninjas in Pyjamas entered LPL 2024 Summer Placements as one of the strongest LoL esports teams and the main candidates to win their group. But so far, things have not gone the way NiP had planned.

After five series played, Ninjas in Pyjamas have managed just two wins (2-3) and to make matters worse, they enter their next match on a two-game losing streak. In their last two outings, NiP lost to Invictus Gaming (1-2) and Anyone's Legend (1-2).

Those results don't mean that Invictus Gaming or Anyone's Legend are qualitatively better than NiP – granted there are only a few teams in the region that can match Ninjas in Pyjamas' talent. However, all that means very little when Ninjas in Pyjamas are extremely sloppy.

Despite their incredibly high ceiling, Ninjas in Pyjamas won't ever get there as long as they continue playing the way they do – unwilling to create their own chances on the map. And even in games where NiP take initiative, they tend to make too many mistakes, for which they already got punished by what are otherwise much weaker squads.

Ninjas in Pyjamas Squad & Team News

No changes for Ninjas in Pyjamas.

  • Deng "shanji" Zi-Jian – top lane
  • Mao "Aki" An – jungle
  • Song "Rookie" Eui-jin – mid lane
  • Ying "Photic" Qi-Shen – ADC
  • Wang "Zhuo" Xu-Zhuo – support

Invictus Gaming Form

Invictus Gaming are, talent-wise, one of the bottom teams in the LPL. And it shows as Invictus Gaming have managed just one victory across four series played. They've so far lost to Ultra Prime (1-2), Weibo Gaming (1-2), and Anyone's Legend (0-2), but they got their name on the board last Friday with a 2-1 victory against Ninjas in Pyjamas.

Seeing Invictus Gaming – who are otherwise very weak – defeat Ninjas in Pyjamas isn't too surprising, mainly due to the reasons mentioned above. So even though NiP shouldn't lose the rematch, we could've said the same about the first meeting between the two sides.

Invictus Gaming Squad & Team News

No announced changes for Invictus Gaming.

  • Chau "YSKM" Shu Tak – top lane
  • Cheng "ZUIAN" Zi-Hao – top lane
  • Li "glfs" Hao – jungle
  • Guo "Tianzhen" Qi-Fan – jungle
  • Zhao "neny" Zhi-Ha – mid lane
  • An "Ahn" Shan-Ye – ADC
  • Zhao "Vampire" Zhe-Can – support

Ninjas in Pyjamas should trash Invictus Gaming purely by playing to their strengths – significantly better players. But NiP as a unit are very sloppy and tend to make way too many critical mistakes to be trusted.

At a better price, NiP to sweep would be a reasonable bet, but based on what we've seen from Ninjas in Pyjamas last split and early in LPL 2024 Summer Placements, it's hard to make a solid argument in their favour.
