Nongshim RedForce vs KT Rolster Predictions

Nongshim RedForce and KT Rolster will clash on Friday, February 16, in the fourth week of LCK 2024 Spring. It'll mark their first meeting of the season, and according to esports betting odds, KT Rolster should win easily.

League of Legends betting sites have KT Rolster priced as 1.16 favourites to defeat Nongshim RedForce, who are 4.50 underdogs for this series. Considering KT are fresh off a huge 2-0 win against Gen.G, this price isn't too surprising, but we perhaps shouldn't overreact to one good performance from KT Rolster.

  • KT Rolster didn't look good before the New Year break
  • Nongshim RedForce have won just one series so far
  • KT Rolster are expected to win without any issues

KT Rolster Form

KT Rolster enter their second match of LCK 2024 Spring Week 4 with a 5-2 record, which is looks good. Before the Lunar New Year break, they defeated BRION, DRX, FearX and Dplus KIA, which isn't too exciting, considering Dplus were the only solid team KT managed to overcome.

However, after a middling display across the first three weeks, KT Rolster crushed Gen.G on Wednesday and, with that, left a strong statement. On paper, this win proves that KT are the real deal, but one upset win after a two-week break doesn't prove anything.

KT won that series purely by outdrafting Gen.G, so it's not like they showed anything remarkable. Credit is where credit is due – KT Rolster are the only team so far to defeat Gen.G, but we shouldn't overreact to that result.

KT Rolster Squad & Team News

No changes for KT Rolster.

Nongshim RedForce Form

Nongshim RedForce have so far won just one out of six series played. They defeated DRX on the opening day of LCK 2024 Spring but have since lost against Gen.G, Dplus KIA, Kwangdong Freecs, FearX, and Hanwha Life Esports.

In their defence, Nongshim RedForce had a very tough schedule. They had to play Dplus, Gen.G, KDF, and HLE, while their only manageable game was against FearX. Seeing RedForce lose to FearX doesn't look good, but they still took a map off Hanwha Life Esports before the break, which was both surprising and impressive.

Nongshim RedForce Squad & Team News

No changes for Nongshim RedForce.

  • Lee "Sylvie" Seung-bok – jungler

Verdict

Nongshim RedForce are not a very good team and not a squad you'd expect to do well this split. They don't have the players to compete with top squads, and their past showings confirm it. Still, RedForce have proven to be resilient and able to punish mistakes even stronger squads make, which should give them a fighting chance here.

KT Rolster enter this match in good form, having recently defeated Gen.G, but that win was a fluke, and the market quickly overreacted to it. The first few matches after the break will always lead to some unexpected results, and that was one of them.

I wouldn't rank RedForce above KT Rolster, but I'm not sold on KT Rolster either. They've yet to show anything remarkable this season and shouldn't be priced as such big favourites here. RedForce also have side selection for this series, which makes them a solid pick.
