The League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational 2024 is the first international LoL esports event of the year. Scheduled to take place on May 1-19, 2024, it will welcome 12 teams from all regions of the world, competing for the lion's share of the prize pool and a direct invite to the LoL World Championship 2024.

As the MSI 2024 draws closer, the full lineup for the international LoL Esports tournament is far from finalised. However, seven of the 12 participating teams have already secured their tickets for the event, including Europe’s G2 Esports who earned their spot way back in February.

The West With Three Representatives Locked In

The League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) has already given away the first ticket for MSI 2024 to G2 Esports, who earned the invite by winning the LEC 2024 Winter split. However, while G2 have known they’re going to the MSI since February, the battle for the second ticket is far from finished.

Team BDS, Fnatic, and G2 Esports are the current remaining teams in the LEC 2024 Spring Playoffs, battling for the LEC title and a direct invite to the MSI 2024 Main Event. The second ticket, currently in possession of G2 Esports, will award one team a spot in the Play-In stage.

On the other side of the pond, the LoL Championship Series (LCS) has already revealed the two teams who’ll represent the region at the MSI – Team Liquid and FlyQuest. As the champions of LCS 2024 Spring, Team Liquid secured a spot in the MSI 2024 Main Event, while runners-up FlyQuest will enter the tournament in the Play-In Stage.

Only One Of Four Spots Filled In Asian Leagues

The LoL Champions Korea (LCK) 2024 Spring Split is nearing the end, and while there are still a couple of games left to be played before we crown the next LCK champions, Gen.G have already booked their plane tickets to MSI 2024 by reaching the finals of the LCK 2024 Spring Playoffs.

This leaves Hanwha Life Esports and T1 to battle for the second spot in the international event.

In the Chinese LoL Pro League (LPL), not a single team has yet to secure their spot at the Mid Season Invitational. There are four teams still in the running, including Bilibili Gaming, Top Esports, Ninjas in Pyjamas and JD Gaming. The latter two have to fight their way through the lower bracket into the LPL 2024 Spring finals for an MSI 2024 ticket.

CBLOL Remains The Only Minor Region Without A Locked-In MSI 2024 Representative

The Pacific Championship Series (PCS), Vietnam Championship Series (VCS), and Liga Latinoamérica (LLA) have all already crowned their Spring Split champions, whereas the title race in Brazil’s The Campeonato Brasileiro de League of Legends (CBLOL) is still going.

LOUD and paiN Gaming lead the way as the most likely teams to represent CBLOL at the MSI 2024, with Vivo Keyd Stars close behind as they have to fight their way through RED Canids and paiN Gaming in the lower bracket to set up a match against LOUD.

Which Teams Are Going To MSI 2024

Seven out of 12 LoL esports teams are already confirmed for the Mid-Season Invitational 2024 and there are only a few days left before the list gets finalised with squads from CBLOL, LEC, LCK, and the LPL.
