Team Vitality vs Team BDS Predictions

Team Vitality and Team BDS will lock horns on Saturday, June 8, in the first week of the League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) 2024 Summer regular season. It'll mark their first meeting of the split and according to the esports betting odds, there's not much to set the two sides apart.

The best League of Legends bookmakers have Team Vitality and Team BDS priced at 1.85, which suggests this should be a close game. And while we've yet to see them perform this split, that sounds like a fair price.

  • Team Vitality ended last split in second place
  • Team BDS finished the LEC 2024 Spring regular season in fifth place
  • Both teams have shown improvement

Head to Head

Team BDS last met with Team Vitality in the LEC 2024 Spring Playoffs when they won.

  • Team BDS 2-1 Team Vitality – April 1, 2024

Team Vitality Form

Team Vitality had a very good run through the LEC 2024 Spring regular season, which they finished in second place with a 6-3 record. Throughout the split, Vitality showed a completely new side of them, playing with far more consistency than what we got used to -  essentially fixing the main weakness that prevented them from accomplishing much.

Unfortunately, even with that, Vitality couldn't compete for a strong finish in the knockout stage, as they exited LEC 2024 Spring Playoffs in fourth place, following two losses against Team BDS (1-2) and Fnatic (1-3).

Nevertheless, Vitality are trending up, and if they can keep playing at the same level in the LEC 2024 Summer, they should be able to again compete for a top-four finish. Anything more will largely depend on how well Fnatic and G2 Esports do.

Team BDS Form

Team BDS looked incredible in the LEC 2024 Winter. They ended the regular season in second place with just two defeats (7-2) and placed third in the playoffs, following a close 2-3 loss to MAD Lions KOI.

In the LEC 2024 Spring regular season, Team BDS only managed a fifth-place finish; however, they found more success in the knockout stage, where they finished in third place after a 2-3 loss to Fnatic in the lower bracket final.

Like Vitality, Team BDS have improved as the season progressed. They're no longer a one-dimensional team that relies on their top side to do all the heavy lifting, and while they still have a long way to go, Team BDS have proven themselves as a very competitive LoL esports team.

Verdict

Team BDS and Team Vitality both showed a lot in the LEC 2024 Spring and while BDS defeated Vitality in the playoffs, that doesn't necessarily prove they're the better team.

Even though neither team is as good as Fnatic or G2 Esports, they both have a lot going for them and have shown immense improvement in spring – the only real question is whether they can keep at it and work on their flaws, which include inconsistency for Vitality and high reliance on top side for Team BDS.

This should be a very competitive game, but I'm leaning more towards Vitality. They are good enough to defeat Team BDS, and as long as things don't get too out of hand early, Vitality should be in a good spot to close out the series.
