Top Esports vs LNG Esports Predictions

Top Esports will clash with LNG Esports on Sunday, June 23, in the third week of League of Legends Pro League (LPL) 2024 Summer Placements. The two squads already met in the first week when Top Esports won 2-0 and according to the esports betting odds, the rematch shouldn't end much differently.

League of Legends betting sites have Top Esports priced as 1.26 favourites, whereas LNG Esports are 3.40 underdogs with Stake. This huge price gap is justifiable as Top Esports have looked excellent so far this stage, unlike LNG Esports who have been struggling.

  • Top Esports have yet to lose a game
  • LNG Esports picked up their second victory last week
  • Top Esports are already guaranteed a top-two finish

Head to Head

LNG Esports met with Top Esports in the first week of LPL 2024 Summer Placements when Top Esports won without any issues.

  • Top Esports 2-0 LNG Esports – June 7, 2024

Top Esports Form

Top Esports have not slowed down one bit since returning from the Mid-Season Invitational 2024. They're in excellent form, having won their last four series without dropping a single game, which includes a convincing 2-0 sweep of LNG Esports at the start of the month.

Even though we're still very early into the summer season, Top Esports again look like one of the top-three LoL esports teams in the league and util proven otherwise, they'll remain a serious threat for the title.

From what we know from last split, Top Esports are also extremely efficient in stomping weaker teams, which is bad news for LNG Esports and any other team that is not JD Gaming or Bilibili Gaming. Granted TES tend to struggle when they fall behind early, although this is rarely an issue when faced with weaker opponents.

Top Esports Squad & Team News

No changes for Top Esports.

  • Bai "369" Jia-Hao – top lane
  • Gao "Tian" Tian-Liang – jungle
  • Lin "Creme" Jian – mid lane
  • Yu "JackeyLove" Wen-Bo – ADC
  • Tian "Meiko" Ye – support

LNG Esports Form

LNG Esports enter this match seeking revenge for their 0-2 loss against Top Esports in the opening week of the split. But this likely won't happen.

LNG Esports are 2-2 so far this stage, with wins against Oh My God (2-0) and Rare Atom (2-0) and losses against Top Esports (0-2) and Rare Atom (1-2). Losing to Rare Atom alone is a sign of concern, mainly because Rare Atom aren't very strong.

But even across all four series LNG Esports have played so far, they've given few reasons to trust them. They seem to be the same thing we saw in the LPL 2024 Spring – they are very passive and wait fort their opponents to make mistakes rather than doing anything on their own.

This might fly against weaker opponents, but when faced with any capable team, LNG Esports simply crumble.

LNG Esports Squad & Team News

LNG Esports have not announced any roster changes.

  • Tang "Zika" Hua-Yu – top lane
  • Wei "Weiwei" Bo-Han – jungle
  • Lee "Scout" Ye-chan – mid lane
  • Chen "GALA" Wei – ADC
  • Fu "Hang" Ming-Hang – support

Verdict

LNG Esports are not only individually weaker than Top Esports, but their style of play also won't work here. We already saw them struggle against Oh My God, Rare Atom and were completely toothless against Top Esports, which makes perfect sense.

The only way to stop Top Esports is to attack them early and take the lead. LNG Esports never put themselves in a position to do that and instead wait for their opponents to blunder. Unfortunately, waiting against Top Esports can only lead to one thing.
