League of Legends bookmakers have Rare Atom priced as 1.66 favourites to defeat Ultra Prime, who enter the series as 2.10 underdogs. Neither team has looked particularly good this split, however, unlike Ultra Prime, Rare Atom have won two of their last three series.

Ultra Prime are not in a very good spot ahead of their first match of LPL 2024 Spring Week 5. They're 1-7 with just one win against FunPlus Phoenix at the end of Week 2 and on a four-game losing streak, with defeats against Anyone's Legend, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Weibo Gaming, and ThunderTalk Gaming.

In their defence, Ultra Prime won a map against Anyone's Legend, Ninjas in Pyjamas, and ThunderTalk Gaming, so things could be much worse. But it's not like we can find many positives from UP's recent showings. Their statistics are not as bad as other teams, but UP have shown very little outside of a couple of good games.

Two good games in a sea of bad showings prove nothing, and it's still more than fair to grade Rare Atom as one of the weakest LoL teams in the LPL. That said, they're gaining momentum, and RA performed well last week, so perhaps this is the point where Rare Atom starts playing better.

Ultra Prime v Rare Atom

This is a match between two of the league's weakest teams, although one of them is in better shape. Rare Atom ranked bottom-two for the first four weeks; however, following their 2-1 week, we have to bump them up a bit, which also explains the offered betting odds.

The real question is whether Rare Atom can stay consistent enough to defeat Ultra Prime, and that's a difficult question to answer. Both squads are flawed and more than capable of losing, and as I don't see a good reason for either of them to win, over 2.5 maps looks like the smarter play.
