The Favourites
According to the Six Invitational 2024 outright betting odds, w7m esports are the main favourites to win the tournament. Priced at 5.00, they're given a 20% implied probability to win the event, which, considering their status as the best Rainbow Six Siege team in the world, sounds fair.
The Brazilian squad enters Six Invitational 2024 as the top-seeded team in the world, having won both big events in 2023, including BLAST R6 Major Copenhagen 2023 and BLAST R6 Major Atlanta 2023. They also made the finals of the last Six Invitational and looked strong domestically, with a bronze and silver medal from Brazil League Stage 1 and 2.
Despite their success in international events, w7m have shown some cracks against other Brazilian teams, which begs the question of how far w7m can go if they end up facing another regional opponent en route to Six Invitational 2024. Still, w7m esports enter the world championship with the best overall record, which isn't something to ignore.
G2 Esports are the defending Six Invitational champions and the joint second favourites to win Six Invitational 2024 with FaZe Clan, both priced at 8.00.
Since winning Six Invitational 2023, G2 Esports haven't shown anything exceptional. They exited BLAST R6 Major Copenhagen 2023 in fifth-eighth place, Gamers8 2023 in seventh-eighth, and ended the year with a semifinal run at BLAST R6 Major Atlanta 2023. In the domestic league, G2 placed second in Stage 1 and top-eight in Stage 2, producing a mixed bag of results.
G2 Esports' record isn't very inspiring, but they were underestimated ahead of the Six Invitational 2024 and still came out on top.
FaZe Clan, Brazil's no 2. Seed had a very impressive run through the 2023 season. They failed to show much at Six Invitational 2023, with a 13th-16th-place finish, but FaZe have since won both Brazil League Stages and made the semifinals at BLAST R6 Major Copenhagen 2023 and BLAST R6 Major Atlanta 2023.
Even though FaZe haven't won any big trophies, they proved to be one of the most consistent Rainbow Six Siege esports teams of 2023. And most importantly, they proved to be very efficient in beating the current top dogs, w7m esports.
Underdogs To Watch Out For
Behind the leading three teams, the Six Invitational 2024 outright betting markets have four teams priced at the same (11.00) odds. Those include DarkZero Esports, LOS, Team Liquid, and Wolves Esports.
All four teams have had their moments of greatness in 2023, and they al proved they can compete with the best R6S teams in the world. However, none won any big events.
LOS were very up-and-down and struggled to show much early into the year. However, they found traction in November when they made the finals of BLAST R6 Major Atlanta 2023, setting a scary tone ahead of the world championship.
Team Liquid were the complete opposite, showing good form early into the year with silver medals from Brazil League Stage 1 and BLAST R6 Major Copenhagen 2023, only to end Brazil League 2023 - Stage 2 in seventh-eight place.
Team Liquid have the talent to do well at Six Invitational 2024, but their recent form doesn't look too inspiring.
DarkZero are the biggest enigma of the four underdogs, having recently made two roster changes with additions of Jason "Beaulo" Doty and Nathan "Nafe" Sharp. On paper, the new-look lineup looks stronger, but they've yet to play an official match together, so DarkZero could be a very hit-or-miss team at the world championship.
Virtus.pro (12.00) and Ninjas in Pyjamas (13.00) are not to be ignored as two teams who left their mark in the 2023 season. Neither looked as dominant as the current R6S top dogs, but they both had strong showings domestically and in some international tournaments.
Still, they'll have to find new gear to compete with the likes of FaZe, w7m, or G2 Esports.
Outsiders That Will Struggle
Soniqs (13.00), M80 (15.00), Spacestation Gaming (15.00), and Geekay Esports (17.00) are the only four teams remaining priced at under 20.00, but this doesn't necessarily mean they'll accomplish much.
They either hail from a weaker region or are lesser versions of other squads from their leagues, so it's very difficult to imagine them making it far.
Likewise, the outsiders in SCARZ (26.00), Dplus (34.00), Team Falcons (41.00), FURY (67.00), Team Bliss (67.00), FearX (81.00), and Bleed Esports (101.00) simply don't have the tools to do well at the world championship.
Six Invitational has previously featured upset wins and unexpected champions; however, the gap between the top contenders and the rest this year might be too big to overcome.
Six Invitational 2024 kicks off on Tuesday, February 13, 2024.
