On Thursday, January 26, Evil Geniuses unveiled their 2024 Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) roster, which looks much different than the 2023 lineup. Besides Vincent "Apotheon" Le and Alexander "jawgemo" Mor, EG fields a new lineup after the North American esports organisation released most of its players this offseason.

The VCT offseason proved to be very turbulent for Evil Geniuses, who, after winning the VALORANT Champions 2023, gave the players an ultimatum: either take a significant pay cut or explore their options for next year.

The majority of EG members decided on the latter option. Max "Demon1" Mazanov and Ethan "Ethan" Arnold left for NRG, Kelden "Boostio" Pupello joined 100 Thieves, and Corbin "C0M" Lee left to play for Leviatan.

Besides losing most of its Valorant roster, which won the world champions title in 2023, Evil Geniuses, as an organisation, had to deal with many problems. Evil Geniuses took a step back from esports over the last few months, releasing its Counter-Strike roster and exiting the League of Legends Championship Series.

This leaves EG's Valorant team the only competitive esports roster within the organisation.

Evil Geniuses Form a New Valorant Team

Evil Geniuses' new Valorant lineup features only two returning members in Vincent "Apotheon" Le and Alexander "jawgemo" Mor, who will link up with Derrek "Derrek" Ha, Phat "supamen" Le, and Nicholas "NaturE" Garrison.

The new roster features some known faces from the NA Valorant esports scene, including NaturE, who played for TSM, Derrek, who joins Evil Geniuses from 100 Thieves, and supamen who was last seen competing with FaZe Clan.

Jawgemo and Apotheon are the only two players who stayed with Evil Geniuses; however, unlike jawgemo, who was a mainstay on EG's roster in 2023, Apotheon hasn't played for Evil Geniuses' main lineup since August 2022.

Evil Geniuses will debut their new roster at the VCT 2024: Americas Kickoff, set to begin on February 16, 2024, featuring 11 Valorant teams who'll fight for two tickets leading to VALORANT Champions Tour 2024: Masters Madrid.
