Gen.G vs Leviatan Predictions

Valorant bookmakers have Gen.G priced as 1.61 favourites to defeat Leviatan, who enter the match as 2.20 underdogs. Considering Gen. G's success so far this season, the price sounds fair, even though Leviatan showed some good things throughout VCT 2024 Americas Stage 1.

  • Gen.G placed second at VCT 2024 Masters Madrid and Pacific Stage 1
  • Leviatan showed improvement in VCT 2024 Americas Stage 1
  • Unlike Leviatan, Gen.G are serious title contenders

Head to Head

Gen.G and Leviatan have yet to meet this season.

Gen.G Form

Gen.G enter VCT 2024: Masters Shanghai as one of the leading candidates to win it all and it's easy to see why. The Korean Valorant esports team started the season with a dominant run to the VCT 2024: Pacific Kickoff title and a month later they added a silver medal at VCT 2024: Masters Madrid.

Even though Gen.G failed to win VCT 2024: Pacific Stage 1, their performance throughout the first stage of the season was nothing short of impressive. In Stage 1, Gen.G won Group Alpha, and while they had a slow start in the playoffs, they came just a few rounds short of defeating Paper Rex in the grand finals.

Having established themselves as one of the world's best Valorant teams, the expectations for Gen.G to do well in Shanghai are high. And with the tools they have at their disposal, it's hard to expect anything less than a top-four finish.

Gen.G Squad & Team News

No changes for Gen.G.

  • Kim "t3xture" Na-ra
  • Kim "Lakia" Jong-min
  • Byeon "Munchkin" Sang-beom

Leviatan Form

Leviatan formed a very scary roster ahead of the 2024 Valorant esports season, but even though they looked great on paper, Leviatan haven't managed to translate that into results.

They ended VCT 2024: Americas Kickoff in seventh-eighth place, with just one victory against 100 Thieves. But they found more success in VCT 2024: Americas Stage 1, where Leviatan won Group Omega and finished the playoffs in third place, with a close 2-3 loss to G2 Esports.

Throughout the first stage of the season, Leviatan produced a handful of good games, but also a few questionable performances. They proved to be widely inconsistent even against weaker opponents, suggesting Leviatan still have a lot of work to do before they'll emerge as one of the world's top Valorant teams.

Leviatan Squad & Team News

No recent changes for Leviatan.

  • Francisco "kiNgg" Aravena
  • Roberto "Mazino" Bugueño
  • Erick "aspas" Santos
  • Ian "tex" Botsch
  • Corbin "C0M" Lee

Verdict

Leviatan gave us a few reasons to be optimistic about them and their chances to make it far in Shanghai. However, throughout VCT 2024: Americas Stage 1, they've produced a few too many questionable victories mainly due to their poor decision-making and weak map pool.

Gen.G have already proven what they're capable of over the last few months and they seem more than ready to compete for top spots in the second Masters event of the season. Compared to Leviatan, they're more decisive, more consistent, and most importantly, have much better firepower.

Gen.G are everything Leviatan wish they could be, and while the opening series of Masters events tend to be a bit more unpredictable, I prefer to side with Gen.G.
