Valorant bookmakers have Natus Vincere priced as 1.28 favourites and Team Heretics as 3.50 underdogs. Both teams looked good during the group stage; however, NaVi have produced cleaner games, which explains the offered price.

  • Natus Vincere have beaten BBL Esports and Team Liquid
  • Team Heretics defeated FUT Esports and Karmine Corp
  • Natus Vincere field the same core from 2023

Head to Head

Natus Vincere and Team Heretics have yet to meet this season.

Natus Vincere Form

Natus Vincere enter the first round of VALORANT Champions Tour 2024: EMEA Kickoff Playoffs as favourites to win, which doesn't sound too crazy. NaVi have kept their core from 2023 intact, which might not seem like the best idea given the team's lack of accomplishments – however, NaVi have been playing much better than what their record from 2023 suggests.

The only roster change ahead of the 2024 season was the addition of Ardis "ardiis" Svarenieks, who previously played with NaVi's core players at FunPlus Phoenix. But more importantly, ardiis is widely considered the final missing piece to fix NaVi's inconsistency.

His arrival seems to have helped, as NaVi looked good in the group stage, beating BBL Esports and Team Liquid without any major issues. However, while NaVi haven't disappointed so far, we only have a pair of games to look at, so it's tough to make any conclusions.

Natus Vincere Squad & Team News

Before the 2024 season, Natus Vincere signed Ardis "ardiis" Svarenieks to replace Mehmet "cNed" İpek.

  • Ardis "ardiis" Svarenieks
  • Kyrylo "ANGE1" Karasov
  • Dmitry "SUYGETSU" Ilyushin
  • Andrey "Shao" Kiprsky
  • Pontus "Zyppan" Eek

Team Heretics Form

Team Heretics made it through the VCT 2024 EMEA Kickoff group stage in one piece, with wins against FUT Esports and Karmine Corp. They played well for the most part but did drop 21 total rounds against FUT (13-11. 13-10).

Against Karmine Corp, Heretics looked much cleaner and won 13-4, 13-4, proving that they're a class above the French squad. Like in the case of NaVi, Heretics only have two games to their name, which is a very small sample size and too small to make any conclusions.

Team Heretics have exceeded expectations this tournament, as many expected them to crash out early. But their run so far was far from a fluke. Heretics are playing well, but they still need to take down one of EMEA's top teams to get the recognition they deserve.

Team Heretics Squad & Team News

Team Heretics replaced most of its roster ahead of the 2024 season and kept only Ričardas "Boo" Lukaševičius from 2023.

  • Ričardas "Boo" Lukaševičius
  • Benjy "benjyfishy" Fish
  • Dominykas "MiniBoo" Lukaševičius
  • Enes "RieNs" Ecirli
  • Mert "Wo0t" Alkan

Verdict

Natus Vincere look like a much better team on paper. They field established names from the VCT, and now with the arrival of ardiis, NaVi have brought back the FPX roster, which was highly successful before the team fell apart.

Heretics, on the other side, formed a mixed squad for the 2024 season, adding lesser-known players from lower-division leagues. This also explains why no one expected Heretics to do well in the first tournament of the year, and yet they proved everyone wrong.

Quality-wise, NaVi are much better, but performance-wise, there isn't much to separate the teams. So even though this is NaVi's game to lose, Heretics have shown enough for me to believe they can do some damage.
