According to recent reports, Nicholas "nitr0" Cannella will be a new member of M80, a very successful second-division Valorant esports team. Nitr0's arrival to M80 coincides with the departure of former M80 in-game leader Mouhamed "johnqt" Ouarid, who signed for Sentinels on Wednesday, September 13.

Nitr0 joining M80 marks the first new signing for the M80 roster following the team's successful debut in the second tier of the Valorant esports scene. The North American squad formed its first Valorant roster in December 2022, consisting of GianFranco "koalanoob" Potestio, Marc-Andre "NiSMO" Tayar, Daniel "eeiu" Vucenovic, and Alexander "Zander" Dituri.

M80 had a very explosive start to their debut in the VALORANT Challengers and won the VALORANT Challengers 2023: North America Split 1 and North America Face Off. M80 continued showing strong form and placed third at North America Split 2 and won the North America Challenger Playoffs.

Unfortunately, the team fell short at the final hurdle and finished Ascension Americas in second place, narrowly missing out on the promotion to the Valorant Champions Tour (VCT). Nevertheless, the results M80 produced throughout the 2023 season were enough to earn the team the tag of one of the most dominant teams in the second tier of competitive Valorant.

Since the end of the 2023 season, M80 have made just one roster change, when the North Americans quad parted ways with its in-game leader, johnqt, who left for Sentinels. Now, just a couple of days later, M80 supposedly found a replacement in nitr0, who is set to join M80 as their new captain.

Nitr0 is mostly known as a Counter-Strike veteran, having started his CS career in 2014 with Arena 51 Gaming. He has since played for several teams but spent most of his career representing Team Liquid. However, this is not nitr0's first entry into Valroant.

The 28-year-old quit Counter-Strike: Global Offensive in August 2020 to join the 100 Thieves Valorant roster, for who he played for over one year, and despite achieving plenty of success, the North American esports pro decided to return to Counter-Strike in January 2021.

In his second stint in CS:GO with Team Liquid, nitr0 placed second at ESL Pro League Season 16 and ended the 2022 season with a silver medal from BLAST Premier: World Final 2022. Unfortunately, Liquid didn't find as much success in 2023 and failed to win a single tournament throughout the season.

Nitr0 parted ways with Team Liquid CS:GO team in June 2023 and has since not shared any details about his future in esports. And while he has yet to officially confirm his return to Valorant, the recent reports suggest that nitr0 has already struck a deal with M80 as their new in-game leader.
