After a season of online qualifiers and four Majors, the Call of Duty League (CDL) is set to culminate with the heavily anticipated CDL Championship 2025.

Set to kick off on Thursday, June 26, the CDL Championship 2025 is the final and the biggest event of the CoD esports season, featuring the top eight teams, who will battle it out for the title of world champions and the lion's share of the prize pool.

The event will take place at Kitchener Memorial Auditorium in Kitchener, Canada, where eight squads will compete in front of a live audience.

While the event welcomes only the top teams from the regular season, the latest outright betting odds have made it clear which two teams are in the front running and which squad are leading favourites to go all the way.

But while the eyes will be set on the Los Angeles Thieves, who enter CDL Championship 2025 as the team to beat, other squads, namely Atlanta FaZe, OpTic Texas, and home-crowd favourites, Toronto Ultra, will be there, ready to spoil Thieves' plans.

CDL Championship 2025 Format

The Call of Duty League Championship 2025 will welcome eight CoD esports teams, who have been seeded into Winners Round 1 of a double-elimination bracket.

All games in the CDL Championship 2025 will be best-of-five (BO5), except for the grand finals, which are best-of-nine (BO9).

The format for this year's event is the same as all previous events since 2021.

CDL Championship 2025 Favourites

The top esports betting sites have made it very obvious which CoD esports team is most likely to win the tournament.

According to the latest betting odds, Los Angeles Thieves (1.72) are the clear favourites to win the tournament, given a 58.1% implied probability of claiming the trophy.

That makes sense, as the Thieves have been the most dominant team of the season.

They got it rolling very early with a runner-up finish in Major 1 and a gold medal from Minor 2. Since then, LA Thieves have added back-to-back Major titles in Stage 3 and 4, and they ended the regular season as no.1 seed with a 37-11 record.

No team managed to challenge LA Thieves for their status as top dogs, but one came close – Atlanta FaZe (3.75).

Despite not winning as many Majors as LA Thieves, Atlanta FaZe have managed to win the Major 1 title and collect a runner-up finish in Major 4. They ended the year as the second-best team, with a marginally worse 34-11 record.

While their trophy cabinet is not as full as that of LA Thieves, Atlanta FaZe are a team you can always expect to perform in big tournaments, as they remain the most successful team in CDL history.

LA Thieves and Atlanta FaZe are the only two teams priced at single digits for CDL Championship 2025, ahead of Optic Texas and Toronto Ultra, who are tied for third at 11.00.

Toronto Ultra have been one of the most consistent teams of the year. They're good on all three game modes and were by far the best Search & Destroy team in the league.

Recently, they've been a bit more mediocre, hovering around a 50%-win rate. However, while their form is not exceptional, Toronto Ultra have shown high highs and can be viewed as a dark horse to go all the way.

The same can be said for the defending champions, OpTic Texas, who were great last year but are not one of the main candidates to win this year's event.

Much like Toronto Ultra, OpTic are in a decent spot. They perform well on all three game modes and have shown high highs.

But while OpTic are well above average, they'll need to find their champion form to compete against LA Thieves and Atlanta FaZe come the championship weekend.
