What is the League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK)?
League of Legends Champions Korea is Korea’s premier LoL esports league. It was formed in 2012 and has been running annually ever since.
Throughout the years, the LCK has made format changes, more recently in 2025, when the season got divided into three stages, to accommodate the introduction of a new international LoL esports event – First Stand.
The LCK features 10 LoL esports teams, who fight through the three splits/seasons to accumulate Championsip Points and secure invites for the three international events – First Stand, Mid-Season Invitational, and the LoL World Championsip.
Traditionally, in each split, the top six teams qualified for the playoffs, where they battled it out in double-elimination brackets.
This changed in 2025 with the introduction of a two-group group stage, dividing the teams into two pools based on their results in the previous split.

LCK History & Past Champions
After the launch of South Korea’s LoL server in late 2011, OnGameNet formed the country’s first LoL tournament, The Champions Spring 2012. This was the catalyst for the formation of the LCK, which has since grown into one of the world’s strongest and most-watched esports leagues.
It was not until the 2015 season that the LCK debuted its new format and identity, now carrying the name LCK – which has stuck ever since. Throughout the next decade, the LCK has undergone numerous format changes, most recently happening in 2025 with the introduction of a three-split season.
While historically dominated by SK Telecom T1 (SKT T1 and now T1), LCK has seen several teams have their time under the spotlight, stringing together back-to-back titles.
That includes Damwon Gaming (now Dplus KIA), who won both LCK Spring and Summer 2021 splits, Gen.G, who won four consecutive splits between LCK 2022 Summer and LCK 2024 Spring, and Hanwha Life Esports, who picked up LCK 2024 Summer and LCK 2025 Spring (LCK Cup) titles.
To date, T1 remain the most decorated team, having won 10 titles since their first in 2013 Summer. Gen.G are in second with five LCK titles, ahead of Dplus KIA, who have won three.
Four other teams have won two LCK trophies, including KT Rolster, CJ Entus, Hanwha Life Esports, and DRX.
