What is PGL Wallachia?
PGL Wallachia is a Dota 2 esports tournament series organised by a prominent Romanian tournament organiser, PGL.
The first season of PGL Wallachia was held in May 2024 and was the first Dota 2 tournament organised by PGL, besides The International and some Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) events.
First announced in March 2024, PGL promised to host a series of eight tournaments over the next three years – until 2028 – all of which will be stand-alone events, with no ESL Pro Tour (EPT) points on offer, meaning that top-performing teams of the event will not be competing for points for direct invites to the Esports World Cup.
Since its inception, PGL Wallachia tournaments offered a $1 million prize pool and kept the same competitive format, featuring 16 teams.
Alongside BLAST Slam, DreamLeague, Esports World Cup, ESL One, and FIUSSURE, PGL Wallachia is one of the most prestigious Dota 2 tournament series of the season, surpassed by only the season-culminating The International.
PGL Wallachia Teams
Since its inception in 2024, PGL Wallachia tournaments have featured 16 Dota 2 teams from around the world.
The list of participants included directly invited teams and squads who fight for their PGL Wallachia tickets via regional qualifiers in Western Europe, Eastern Europe, China, Southeast Asia, and the Americas.
The most recent change to the qualifying process occurred in 2025, when the North American and South American regions merged into a single Americas region.
