Scheduled to begin on Thursday, June 26, the Call of Duty League (CDL) Championship 2025 is the final event of the CoD season and one of the biggest esports tournaments of the year.
CDL Championship 2025, or the 2025 CoD world championship, will feature eight top-performing CoD esports teams from the regular season who will battle it out in a double-elimination bracket for the coveted trophy and the largest slice of the multi-million-dollar prize pool.
The list of attendees includes former world champions, including the reigning champions, OpTic Texas, who will hope they can defend their title and become the first team in history to accomplish that feat.
But that will be easier said than done, as OpTic will face stiff opposition in LA Thieves and Atlanta FaZe, who are billed as the leading candidates to hoist the trophy.
While all the eyes will be on Los Angeles Thieves, as the most dominant team of the year, that does not give us the answer to the question – who will win the CDL Championship 2025?
When Does the CDL Championship 2025 Start?
The CDL Championship 2025 is scheduled to start on Thursday, June 26, with the first games of the double-elimination bracket.
The tournament will conclude on Sunday, June 29, 2025, with the grand finals.
CDL Championship 2025 Format
CDL Championship 2025 will use a straightforward double-elimination bracket to determine the CoD: Black Ops 6 world champions.
All eight teams got seeded into the upper bracket depending on their placement in the regular season, with the first-seeded team paired with an eighth-seeded team, the second with the seventh, and so on.
All CDL Championship 2025 bracket games will be played as best-of-five (BO5), except for the grand final, which is best-of-nine (BO9).

Whether they’ll manage to make it past LA Thieves is anyone’s guess, but FaZe have the tools to make a deep run.
The defending champions, OpTic Texas (11.00), should not be ignored either. They are a dark horse going into the event, as a highly experienced team who have had their moments this season. Just recently, OpTic nearly beat FaZe, and they’ve had a few good games against LA Thieves too.
Likewise, Toronto Ultra (11.00) are not a team to be taken lightly. They have shown just how good they can be in the middle of the season, and while they’ve since started to trend downward a bit, their ceiling is something to consider.
Talking about teams who do not appear great, but can have their moments, we have Miami Heretics. Priced at 12.00, they’re not expected to make it very far, yet their resurgence in the latter stages of the season is impressive.
Heretics placed fourth in Major 3 and third in Major 4, showing they can compete against the world’s best teams.
They still need to show a bit more to be a serious threat to the top dogs, but the Miami Heretics are not that far off securing a tag of live dark horses to go all the way.
