The recently crowned Masters champions, Paper Rex (4.50), sit tied with G2 Esports atop the markets as the main favourites to win the VALORANT Esports World Cup 2025 and secure their second international trophy.
Despite a slow start to the season, Paper Rex have progressively improved, placing third in VCT Pacific Stage 1, second in the Asian Champions League 2025, and winning the EWC 2025 qualifiers. And to top it all off, Paper Rex won Masters Toronto 2025, truly solidifying themselves as the world’s best team.
G2 Esports have yet to win an international event this season, but have been very consistent. They won VCT Americas Kickoff and Stage 1, made the finals of Masters Bangkok and placed fourth in Toronto.
As one of the most consistent teams in the world, G2 Esports deserve to be viewed as serious title contenders at the VALORANT Esports World Cup 2025.
Sitting close behind the leading two candidates are Fnatic (6.50), who, like Paper Rex, had a slow start to the year, but have gotten much better.
After an early exit from VCT EMEA Kickoff, they won Stage 1 and reached the finals of VALORANT Masters Toronto 2025, where they played a competitive game against Paper Rex.
Sentinels, as the fourth favourites to win the VALORANT Esports World Cup 2025, have had their moments too, but they’ve yet to reach for the stars.
With two runner-up finishes in VCT Americas, a seventh-eighth placement in Bangkok and a fifth-sixth in Toronto, Sentinels should be on anyone’s radar.
The same applies for Gen.G (8.50), who have had their moments, but have yet to find the needed traction to believe that they can win in Saudi Arabia.
The rest of the teams, namely Team Heretics (13.00), DRX (13.00), NRG (13.00), and EDward Gaming (19.00), can be viewed as dark horses to make a deep run, but have not shown as much as the leading contenders.

Verdict
VALORANT Esports World Cup 2025 is a very stacked tournament, with many teams who have a realistic chance to win it all. However, while the outright markets offer some inviting picks, I like my chances with Fnatic to reach the final at 3.50.
Fnatic have not won an international event in a while, but they’ve gone through quite a resurgence of late, and their run in Toronto should be a good indication that Fnatic have what it takes to win it all. An outright bet is worth considering, but with G2 Esports, Paper Rex, Gen.G, and Sentinels in the mix, a bet on “to reach the finals” at current prices is a more inviting bet.
