Intel Extreme Masters Melbourne 2025 Favourites

The current no.1 Counter-Strike 2 team in the world, Team Vitality, are billed as the main favourites to win Intel Extreme Masters Melbourne 2025 and add another title to their trophy cabinet.

After a slow start to the year, Team Vitality turned on their jets and collected three Big Event trophies, including IEM Katowice 2025, ESL Pro League Season 21, and BLAST Open Spring 2025, proving themselves as the most dominant squad in the scene.

To put it in perspective, Vitality have this season played 19 games and lost just one. Moreover, they’re on a 16-game winning streak ahead of their trip to Melbourne and with over three weeks of break, fatigue should not be an issue for the Bees.

Sitting close behind Vitality on the outright betting markets are MOUZ (3.00), who have made a strong case for themselves as one of the top squads attending the event.

While they have not reached the same heights as Vitality, MOUZ featured in ESL Pro League Season 21 and BLAST Open Spring 2025 grand finals – losing both to Vitality. The most recent clash, however, was close (2-3), suggesting that the gap between the two squads is not as significant.

MOUZ and Vitality are the top dogs attending Intel Extreme Masters Melbourne 2025, but there are other teams who should not be ignored.

Natus Vincere (8.00) have yet to win a tournament this season, but they’ve made playoffs in all four S-Tier events they’ve attended. This is still far below expectations, but while NaVi are not at 100% yet, this is one of the teams that can turn on at any point.

The same applies to FaZe Clan (17.00), who have been struggling to win a title this season, yet they field a very strong lineup, capable of contesting big events. They, however, like Team Falcons (13.00) can be potent if they find their rhythm.

The MongolZ (15.00) are interesting outsiders who have often exceeded expectations – more notably with runner-up finishes at IEM Katowice 2025 and ESL Pro League Season 21. While they’ve yet to prove they can defeat top teams consistently, MongolZ should be on anyone’s radar.

Behind the leading six, there are not any squads who are given a realistic chance to compete for top spots. Liquid and Virtus.pro have both failed to prove they belong among the elite few, and the rest of the participants lack the raw quality to compete with the best.

While unlikely for any of the big outsiders to come out on top, the battle between the leading six could be exciting.
