The VALORANT 2026 esports season shifts into a higher gear this week as the game’s elite squads fly to Chile for VALORANT Masters Santiago.

As the inaugural global VALORANT esports event of the year, Masters Santiago serves as the ultimate test for the world’s best teams, as they head to South America to face off on the big stage.

With a US$1,000,000 prize pool and Championship points on the line, Masters Santiago promises a fierce battle for top spots between squads from EMEA, Americas, China, and the Pacific region.

While the Americas and Pacific teams dominate the top of the betting boards, the evolving meta and the emergence of new powerhouse rosters ensure a close battle for glory, giving esports fans something to look forward to.

Meanwhile, Masters Santiago offers plenty of betting opportunities on the top-rated VALORANT betting sites, with many squads priced as outsiders possessing the right tools to make a deep run and disrupt the balance of power.

Here is all you need to know about VALORANT Masters Santiago 2026, including the current odds and our expert picks on who will win the first Masters trophy of the season.

The tournament officially begins on Saturday, February 28, with the opening matches of the Swiss Stage. The competition will run through early March, culminating in the grand final on March 15.

VALORANT Masters Santiago 2026 Format

The road to the trophy in Santiago is divided into two phases, starting with an eight-team Swiss Stage.

The Swiss Stage features the second- and third-seeded teams from the four regions, who will battle in a best-of-three (BO3) series until they either win three or lose three games.

The four teams that win three fixtures will proceed to the playoffs and join the four directly invited teams.

VALORANT Masters Santiago 2026 Betting Odds

According to the latest markets at the top VALORANT betting sites, the field is tightening at the top, though a clear "Big Three" has emerged.

NRG (4.33) enter the tournament as the favourites, having shown good things in the VCT Americas Kickoff event.

The North American organization has once again assembled a "super-team" that combines veteran leadership and promising young talent, which is the perfect recipe for long-term growth and strong showings in big events.

Their ability to adapt mid-round remains their greatest strength, and with the current meta favouring disciplined utility usage, NRG look incredibly difficult to beat in a Bo3 format.

While NRG are undeniably good, Paper Rex (4.75) are not too far behind in the power rankings.

Despite not winning VCT Pacific, Paper Rex have kept the same core, which has attended multiple big events last season, where they’ve shown excellent things.

Experience competing in Masters events is one of Paper Rex’s biggest strengths. They are also known to run hot, so a strong start for Paper Rex could give them the momentum needed to go all the way.

G2 Esports (5.00) and Nongshim RedForce (5.50) are viewed as primary disruptors of the established balance of power.

G2 has shown incredible resilience in the EMEA region, while Nongshim RedForce emerged as VCT Pacific’s top dogs, going from a team no one expected to dominate to carrying VCT Pacific’s flag.

The Korean squad came out of nowhere and won VCT pacific which is a highly competitive region. And if that is any indication, NS RedForce can succeed in Santiago too.

T1 (11.00) are team who are arguably underrated on the outright markets. They are by far one of the most experienced teams attending the event.

Despite failing to win the domestic league, T1’s only loss came against Nongshim RedForce. Besides that loss, T1 have looked incredible, and knowing this roster of players can do well in Masters events, T1 are hard to underestimate.

Verdict

Interestingly, the most inexperienced teams of the tournament are all No.1 seeds, which has historically not worked out as expected. So while FURIA, All Gamers, BBL Esports, and Nongshim RedForce are all strong, and some even considered the main favourites, they all have this major weakness.

Despite what the outright markets suggest, T1 should not be underestimated. They have plenty of experience competing in big events and despite not winning VCT Pacific, this same core have done well in past big events.

At 11.00, T1 are worth a bet as a live outsiders who have all the tools they need to go all the way.
